Despite the Orioles loss, Cade Povich showed promise in his MLB debut

Спорт

I love how consistent with game recaps. Wake up, podcast is there. Would love to see an Orioles where are they now segment once a week or something like that.

I've been an everydayer for a few years, and appreciate how the podcast gives a nice summation of all the things an Orioles fan needs to stay informed about what's going on with the team. I do miss getting the additional perspective guests can provide; for example, I really enjoyed how you had a guest for each June draftee a few years ago, allowing us to hear from corners of the baseball world the typical MLB fan doesn't often get exposed to, and giving us a greater connection to those players. Likewise, when a player like Spenser Watkins was signed we got a glimpse into the Indy ball world the O's snagged him from. Perhaps having a playoff-caliber team lessens the need to do such deep dives, but I think there can still be room for some of it. Keep up the great work!

Really appreciate the comment and do wanna say - I really loved doing those episodes with the deep dives with experts from around the country. But you hit it right on the nose - with the team being so good and the shorter format of the show, just not as able to do things like that during the season. It’s also really tough to schedule guests at all during the season with my recording schedule. But hopefully I can do more in the offseason!

I’m a big fan of the podcast. As a lifelong Oriole fan living on the West Coast, this podcast really helps keep me up to speed with my team. I like the way you give an honest review of the O’s and I enjoy your assessments of possible roster moves, the bullpen trusts, etc.

I like the duration of episodes, as it makes for an easier listen because they are shorter. I listen to a lot of different podcasts, and only having to spend 30-40 min per episode is very convenient

Love the recaps, especially for the evening games, which are middle of the night UK time, so I usually don't watch them. Everything else also great: for example, the roster moves and trades have given me a much better understanding of some of the nuances of baseball.

My wife and I listen to Locked On Orioles mainly during our commutes or during a slower portion of the work day. I appreciate the detail you get into! For instance, when you explained Cano's drop in his arm slot amd how that actually statistically improves his slider even though it lowers the effectiveness of his sinker. I also wasn't aware that we were the best hitting team against lefties. Surprising with our many lefties but with Gunnar hitting great against lefties and all of our switch hitters I can see why we've turned it around against lefties.

I really like the analysis you give when recapping games and the formatting of it. The way you specifically break down the outings of the starting pitching is top tier. I would maybe like to see a monthly rotation trust ranking especially considering guys like Irvin and Suarez are bouncing from the rotation to the pen.

The bullpen is a problem and will continue to be a problem unless they find another arm or two. Povich was charged with 6 runs but Tate let the game get out of hand by allowing a two-out hit in the 6th inning. The league is full out relievers who throw 97-98+, every team seems to have one or more of them but this bullpen doesn't have any. Cano and Perez get it up that high on occasion but not consistently. Like it not, high velocity pays in late innings. Also I think stranding runners and holding the score where it is when the relievers enter the game is as important as the overall ERA of the bullpen. Yesterday was a perfect example. Sure the bullpen was not charged with any of the 6 runs but Tate failed to get one more out and let them score two more runs which turned out to be a killer.

Love the podcast, Connor, thank you. I do believe you’re being a bit kind and not critical enough of the pen. Also, for some reason, I just don’t have that magical feeling that the O’s are in every game and can come back and win like I did last year. I don’t know. Maybe it’s just what us longtime O’s fans have dealt with for so long. Go O’s!

Big fan love the recaps, I would much rather you skip mail bags or off days and switch up the scedual a little to do one on the weekend. Maybe Sunday through Thursday instead of Monday through Friday? The Monday episode always feels like a large amount to get through then Tuesday is all about Mondays game again. Just suggesting this to enter for the give away, I listen everyday and love how consistent this podcast is. While we’re making no wishes, could you do 8 a week? Thanks Connor!

I like how candid you are when describing players strengths and weaknesses, esp their shortcomings. You call a spade a spade. You do your homework and make it easy for me to keep track of the new Orioles and what they bring to the ballclub. Players that you criticized never do well when they move to different teams.

Great analysis as usual! Why is it that the reliever does not get charged when letting inherited runners score? The batter/team did essentially "earn" the run/s off the reliever.

O's faced Kikuchi on May 15th and he shut us down then too. He owns us lately, while worse teams than us can get 6 runs off him. Makes zero sense.

O's still have the 4th best record in baseball and on pace to win 103 games. yanks been playing amazing, but on pace to win 114 games... i don't think that's sustainable. O's offense needs to consistently score runs, and they've been dealing with pitcher injuries and could've bolstered their bullpen before the season. Cowser has had a slumping May, and in general below average production from some of the vets. need more production consistently from the lineup, but Adley, Gunnar, Mountcastle and Westburg have played well
