    What is the Neck Radius? I have torn labrum under my arm and after tearing my humerus destroyed my shoulder and arm and I really want to play. My 12 inch radius guitars. I am wondering about if anyone makes the classic 7.25 radius, but some people say they choke out. I wonder if a 9.5 is better? I am home bound. It has been a year. The labrum is still torn in the joint.

    @@fenatic7484 The 7.25" R can sometimes choke-out of cheaply built guitars. Typically you need better fretwork to keep the 7.25"R from having problems.. That is why 9.5"R are a little more common these days.

    I wired a high pass/low cut filter out of the bridge tone control on a 335, and made the neck tone into a master several years ago. Being able to roll off just a bit of low end and tightening it up was only second to the 5+2 Strat switching as the best electronics mod I've done. I worked in a repair shop, out of every 3 or so semihollow owners who tried mine had me convert theirs. It can handle higher overdrive and fuzz much better then normal.

    I played one and it's cool. It sounds nice and the string tension makes for some percussive strumming. I also noticed some similarities in design with my evh wolfgang which I thought were very interesting. However, none of the Reverend guitars I've tried have rolled fingerboard edges which make it uncomfortable. For $1,500 I wish they could have someone go over the wood edges edges with some sandpaper and include some type of case. I'll probably buy one used and do it myself because it is still really very cool.

    Awesome review! I own mostly USA made guitars. Two exceptions are my Reverend Airwave 12-String and my brand new Reverend Cross Cut. These guitars are amazing, high quality, and do a lot of things Gibson and Fender should be doing but for some reason don't. Anyway if you are a USA guitar guy like me and want to try something different, check out Reverends, you will likely be blown away. The Railhammer pickups are P-90 inspired and really punch up the mojo.

    I picked up this signature guitar a couple weeks ago in metallic white. My first reverend, and I absolutely love the longer scale length, over all the pickups sound amazing for nailing that early Gish/Siamese dream tone. And you're right, the bass contour knob is useable, and super unique. My only downside is the build quality, I am used to Schecter guitars and every one I have picked up has been perfect out of the box, fret ends completely smooth. However there are a couple oversights on quality with the Reverend, there are a couple places on the bridge pickup cover that are insanely sharp, cut my finger the first time due to a pesky burr. Easily fixed with a file, but I should have to do that on a $1500 guitar.

    I dig it! Looks cool and sounds good. I’ve played a few Reverend guitars and they were all super cool but seemed like they had skinny neck widths and slim taper profile to them. That was the only thing I couldn’t bond with. If Reverend would make a fat neck I’d definitely pick one up. Heck maybe they need to sell aftermarket necks???

    I love your content. First and foremost you are a good dude. But I will say that reverend makes extremely good high quality instruments. After spending so much money on gibsons and fenders i wanted something that set me apart so i got a reverend. Needless to say since I own one with plans to probably own several more. I still love my teles and i especially love my les paul jr sp. I've got more pricey models but surprisingly money isn't always a sign of quality. If you want a gibson do not be scared to get the jrs they seriously rock. I actually did not like the Billy Corgan. It sounded great but nothing like the double agent.

    I’d pay $799 for something like this with no case. Honestly all guitar prices have gone up. Fender MIM can go for $1,499 and Americans are now $1,799. Big mark ups from Pre Covid. I feel if you’re gonna pay $1,499 might as well get that American Fender for $1799 or Gibson. Not long ago about $1300-$1500 would get you a good American made top brand. Now it gets you a Mexican that’s not horrible, but usually needs to go right to the shop to get setup.

    I'd have rather seen Billy with Fender, but I do like some aspects of the guitar. The routing sounds like a dream for anyone who likes modifying their gear, but the metal pickguard kind of ruins that. Metal 'guards will never make much sense to me anyways.

    Lift up the plastic pickguards on old Fender’s and see what’s underneath them 😉 I have three and I can tell you there is a metal pickguard called a shield underneath that’s the same shape and cutouts as the pickguard. It’s a shield and back in the day I suppose it was much cheaper and easier to make a thin aluminum sheet cutout pickguard to go underneath the plastic guard. Anyways these days a nice full thickness aluminum pickguard eliminates the need for a plastic pickguard on top of the aluminum. It’s attractive and does serve a purpose for shielding and interference. Not everyone does or will understand the benefits here. I myself I love them but not on all guitars but for the Reverend guitars they look beautifully done.

    @@lyric.kayden Fender did have stock gold anodized aluminum pickguards on some models (early Jazzmasters), but the cost probably factored into them switching to tortiseshell… conductive shielding tape under plastic guards is also a thing.

  • @thenameless3271

    @thenameless3271

    I don't think a 60s shield really counts as a pickguard, it's thinner and the rough surface is covered by the plastic counterpart. That's the main reason I don't like them, the feel and added weight just isn't my thing. Normally if I need shielding, I just use adhesive foil, lightweight and completely hidden.
