Been taking notes mentally, I feel like this should be a class. It's really helpful to us content creators to emphasize health over functionality. Sure the set up works as needed but is it optimizing another area we tend to overlook. I notice how your body language is calmer than let's say an average person and it's just you are happier in your work space. It's cool and really good to show this to people.

Hello. My name is Miguel and I'm from Portugal. A week ago, by coincidence, your Cozy Gaming Desk Setup video appeared on my suggestions feed and I clicked to watch it. I also have a switch and the pastel tones on your console caught my attention. When I started watching I felt something awaken inside me. My daily routine is a mess and somehow your video brought calm and relax to my stressed mind. Since then, whenever I have a little free time to relax I find myself looking for a different video of you to watch and it relaxes me a lot. Please keep up the wonderful work you do❤️ Thank you for your attention. Have a wonderful day ☺️

aww this is exactly what i needed to watch! i definitely need to work on my posture while working. i tend to slouch in bed all day and have unhealthy posture habits, but these tips seem to be really helpful! I love how you mention that breaks is just as important as working ergonomically because mental + physical health = healthy wellbeing! :) i just sat up and fixed my posture after watching your video, so i'm off to a good start already! hehe :)

Really helpful tips! I sometimes find myself curled in the prawn position with shoulders rotated forward and forward head posture after a long days work so really have to be mindful of shifting postural positions throughout the day. I do keep to my short bouts of exercises in the evening though focusing some time on moves to retract my scapulars back and down to counteract the effects of sitting in that shrimp position and I feel much energised afterwards. I also try to follow the 20-20-29 rule, that is, every 20 mins, stare outside in the distance at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. That has helped to relax my eyes, and with migraines but difficult to stick with when you have a deadline approaching. What I found really life changing but so simple to implement is a 15 to 20 minute brisk walk after lunch and dinner with my other half either outside or on my treadmill which has helped us both with our concentration levels and avoid the dreaded food coma by keeping our blood sugar levels balanced. We keep to 55 to 70% of MHR though as the focus isn't on exhausting ourselves and that has done wonders I think for my mental health, aerobic fitness, productivity as well as sleep - we're designed to move after all. Think there's also now empirical studies showing the anti-ageing effects of cardio so that's a bonus.

You're wrong about the chair not making a difference, it actually has a significant impact on back health. I used to have midrange office chair that didn't have a lot of adjustments and the movement was very limited. After 2 hours of use, I'd get a lot of pain in my tailbone region, no matter how well I sat. When I realised that I needed a better chair, I ended up investing in a high end office chair. The difference really is night and day, especially when compared to my previous chair. The level of adjustments offered is great and because of the chair's amazing recline mechanism, movement is encouraged and not restricted.

  • @Elizabeth-kn4jh

She didn’t say that the chair doesn’t make a difference, she said your habits using the chair is more important. As you said, no matter how well you sit some chairs will be uncomfortable, but no matter the chair if you have poor posture you will damage your health and be uncomfortable.

Your wrong not 90 degrees that’s closing the the joint angle and is called flexion. That will create muscle tension and with time pain. See the “Neutral Posture” the arm angle is 122 degrees and leg angle is 133 degrees. The 90 Degrees came from the study from OSHA which was last updated in the late 70s things have changed. N.A.S.A has the updated chart based on neutral posture. I saw a few tweaks you need to make to your set up as well this is a classic case of miss interpretation of ergonomic standards.
