    @45:00 the critical section for shear should be taken as d/2 from the periphery of the column/capital/Drop panel. since, there is Drop panel for this interior panel. I think we should consider d/2 from drop Panel. Please correct me if Iam wrong...

    The effective depth is length between tension fibre and maximum compression fibre. Thus in the effective depth calculation half of the dia main tension steel should be added.

    Professor Jadhao, @14:44, if Code IS 456 says drop panel lateral dimensions shall be no smaller than 1/3 x panel size = 2m, how did you then arrive at 3m x 3m?

    We can increase dimensions of drop panel on higher side. IS 456:2000 has given directions for minimum dimension of drop panel.

    y still using 415 steel? civil engg sub is all about being practical.and this 415 shows its just copied from book without any risk of changing even the grade of steel
