Design and 3D Print an N Scale Model Railroad Steel Fabrication Plant

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome everybody! Today we are doing another Model Railroad 3D Printing project. We will be using Tinkercad, and a Prusa Mini to print a Small N Scale Steel Fabrication Plant for a Model Railroad! Model Railroading is so much fun. It's great to do these types of projects and share them with the Model Train community!

“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”

    That's one thing I'd love to have a 3d printer to make buildings or fright cars or parts for rollingstock etc. Very neat . the cad part thats something id have a learning curve on

    Neat building model Jimmy, and another good demo of the 3D design and printing process. Thanks for at least running through the assorted shapes, etc. that needed to be generated in TinkerCad to form the structure. Take care. Art...

    great building, wonder if it would be better if the crane came from the inside so the steel can move from the building?

    hi Jimmy...love the structure but i do have a couple of suggestions... can you make the roof removable??? if you can then make the building wide enough to have an overhead crane inside the structure. .just my 2 cents...thx for sharing... vinny

    Looks great do you always print your structures whole or normally piece by piece like a kit

    Very interesting model. I am sure the base for the overhead crane can be built into the scenery so that shouldn't be a problem. Is this being made with the material that is easy to sand? I am thinking of getting this in HO scale for my N scale layout so it will be nice and large. Would just need to sand off the man-doors and add N scale ones. Should be easy for the modelers to customize with roof vents and fans. Cheers!

    Either your original design or Vinny's variant would interest me Jimmy. I can make use of that on a team track end.

    Hey Jimmy I just received my Ho scale buildings that I ordered from you. They turned out great, I am very happy with them. Will you be possibly making this building available in Ho along with your freight house that you have also designed in ho?

    Sitto Vinny's (Cuz) comment/question. Also, is it scalable to HO or too big for a 3D printer then?

    I use tinkercad to make my models and design my models to scale when I create them. Then I don’t have to do anything in Cura except add supports and slice it.
