Just finished Allanwater and bigger loop in Wabakimi. First whitewater trip was epic. Thanks for previous videos! Doing Bloodvein River next year. Thinking Yukon Wind River or one of the others after that. Those sweepers and strainers had me pretty nervous in the first part of the trip!

If you put little slices from the spine down to the belly, you can put seasoning in there, and it stops the fish from curling up like that

If it wasn’t for the narrator and the fact that it’s an esquif and not a Novacraft, I’d swear I was watching of Jim Bairds Yukon videos

We arrived June 29. Our last 4-5 days were very hot and sunny on the Peel (will show in Part 2 coming soon). Hope you had a good trip. Thanks for watching !

Fantastic! I think what I enjoyed most was that you had the pace of the trip set commensurate with the beauty of the land you encountered. You’re doing this trip the way I’d like to think I’d do it, given the chance. I’m a foodie and love camp cooking and the associated gear. I see you’re using the 2000ml Toaks pot but, what’s the smaller pot and does it nest in the bigger one? I’m always looking of new ways to put cool kits together. Also, you’re editing/production is great. I’m looking forward to seeing part 2 😊

Thank you for watching. We also enjoy these trips because we have no set schedule aside from our pick up and drop off points. We took this section slow but there were some other parts we powered through that didn’t have as great camping spots. With 24 hours sunlight we could also take more time to hike and fish instead of worrying about setting up camp before dark. We use the toaks pot with handle and the MSR big Titan pot. They fit inside each other and we use the titan more for water boils because of the handle. We also chose to bring a smaller pocket rocket stove that fit easily inside the pots with our cutlery on this trip. For two people they work great and have been using this combo for a few years. I will have a trip equipment prep video coming out this fall. Thanks for watching !

I've gotta say the 60fps is making it really hard for me to enjoy this properly, I just don't have enough data for 60fps. I don't know why, but KZread is making me go down to 360p to get a normal frame rate. Sorry to complain but I'm seeing 60fps everywhere all of a sudden and it's quite a problem for me. I usually watch in 1080, but 1080p60 uses twice the data.
