I live in Communist California and the police and politicians virtue signal by saying they care, but they completely ignore them now that they can just put a tent up on a sidewalk. You know what happens? They die or they commit crimes that hurt others. That is NOT compassionate. Christians DO actually care! We are out there constantly trying to help and get them to shelters, but now they push us away and say they'd rather be in their tent where they can be left to do drugs and die.

Been there, done that. 15 year dissolution of a marriage, and it put me sleeping in my car.

I was homeless and working the night shift. I've been battling with my schizophrenia. But anyways, I would sleep during the day in a park. I didn't make a mess or draw attention to myself. I would just lay back and sleep off to the side in the grass. Police would come around ID me and ask me questions, but would leave me be the majority of the time. Thank God Almighty I have an apartment now and taking my meds. 🇺🇲📜🗽🎇

I seem to remember one small plane of migrants taken to Martha's vineyard, & those people had a fit, & got them all out of there before nightfall! Tons of empty land, huge homes with dozens of empty rooms, lots of money to buy them anything needed too. Could have hired them as drivers, cooks, maids, gardeners, cashiers in their stores. But they kicked them all out. Were those people on the right, I wonder?

Who here is the least bit suprised?

In years past they had what were called SROs, single room occupancies. For like a dollar a night one could get a tiny room with just a bed with a shared bathroom in the hallway. They were dingy, but for the most part the occupants kept them clean according to the rules, lest they get evicted. They kept most people off the streets.

We’ve attempted to help several homeless and it didn’t take long to learn they weren’t “down” they were irresponsible. They LOVED living a life of no responsibilities. No bills, no job, no rent, just holding their hand out. They had their sad sad stories (which were lies) down cold.

Now, if they had 10 stores globally, your 8 billion might make sense. But it doesn't. Each store grinds it out and pays something to the corporation. Most stores are not owned by McDonalds. Lose your job for 3 months don't pay your car for 6 months and get your house foreclosed after a year..when you try to keep up with your bills you don't have liquid assets and when you lose your hard asserts you will be homeless. Salvation Army doesn't charge money. I've never heard of ANY homeless shelters requiring money from the homeless. They do however require them to be clean & sober. That's an issue for many of them.

Fortunately Florida does not fall under the jurisdiction of the 9th Circuit Court, which has ruled this as unconstitutional and basically makes it illegal for cities to kick people off of camping on public property like sidewalks. So, no, it is not unconstitutional. Florida is one of the few sane states left that knows stuff like having tents full of crackheads all over a beach is a bad thing.

It’s drug addiction. They dont want to move inside because of rules, no drugs. Also i am paying more, at least 25% to 30%, for everything because of bidens inflation. Food costs are almost as much as my rent. You can thank biden for that.

The reason for so many homeless people is the 2020 lockdowns, shutdowns, and rent moratoriums. Since the costs of everything have gone through the roof, of course rent will go up. Lets not forget the millions of illegals that have poured into the country the last 3 years.

We have money for Israel and Ukraine, but not the homeless or vets , or healthcare, etc.

The VA has robust services to get veterans like myself off of the streets. President Reagan got the federal government out of the public housing business, the one trillion dollar annual budget for the US, 1.8 Trillion in Iraq fighting no weapons of mass destruction, 2.3 Trillion getting President Bush's family friend's son, bin Laden hiding in caves. Both fake Wars we were not invited to come in and save us. The genocide of Ukraine against innocent freedom-loving people isn't a battle you're willing to fight or support, with 60 Billion invested by the US. 102 Billion invested by the EU. The insurance crisis in Florida did not stop Donald Trump from receiving 17 million in Insurance cash which he honestly said you don't have to spend on repairs, you can pocket the money which he did, 17 million for damaged lawn chairs in 2005. Yesterday, rent was $850 a month, it's my right to charge $3,500 a month if I can get the money from anybody that wants to rent it for that price and why not, the algorithm says everybody's charging $5,000 now, so the algorithm will make that 6000 by next year. And the DR Horton homes built in Arizona with cardboard exterior walls for over a million dollars are just wanted Florida needs to solve the rental crisis. Your support for Vladimir Putin and the support for communism, Donald Trump is your man.

But homeless people pay taxes too. Therefore, it is part of their property. Isn't it? That's why they pay taxes to repair those roads. Those sidewalks your beaches. Homeless people are taxpayers.

I live in Communist California and the police and politicians virtue signal by saying they care, but they completely ignore them now that they can just put a tent up on a sidewalk. You know what happens? They die or they commit crimes that hurt others. That is NOT compassionate. Christians DO actually care! We are out there constantly trying to help and get them to shelters, but now they push us away and say they'd rather be in their tent where they can be left to do drugs and die.

In my city, there are a few churches that make lunches to hand out to homeless folks and seniors on a low income. Kudos to those Christians following the Bible by healing the sick and feeding the hungry. 😊

What do you mean? It solves everything. It stops the homeless person from abusing drugs/alcohol and doing criminal behavior to get the money for said substances. If they are in prison for long enough, they might even stay sober and fix themselves.

Homelessness has nothing to do with a lack of affordable homes and everything to do with some people choosing drugs, alcohol and laziness over leading productive lives. If you gave every homeless person a "free" (taxpayer funded) home, 90% of them would be right back on the streets within months.

Well, let's just hope they overcrowd the Florida jails to the max, make it difficult enough for cops and corrections officers to manage and bulge the system to its seams ! Cops have enough problems to deal with without putting more unnecessary burdens on their shoulders like this new law. Weren't Republicans, beginning with Reagan, the ones who cut funding and closed all the mental institutions? That's what you get, this problem and mess, when you cut all the funding. Just desserts. I hope this is really unmanageable for Florida's system to enforce & handle. Let's hope for chaos as they try it 🙏
