Derwent Runs Down To The Sea (1965)
A canoe trip along the River Derwent begins at the source in the Highlands at Lake St Clair/Cradle Mountain National Park. The canoe passes by Butler's Gorge, the HEC projects, Meadowbank, Bushy Park, Gretna, forests and hop fields, New Norfolk and ends where the river meets the sea in Hobart.

A really beautiful land and river, that keeps calling me back.
Yes it is indeed a stunning place, I've been back several times. My parents met in Hobart in the early 50s (£10 pound Poms).

It's been destroyed by globalisation and greed.
i drove around there in november 2016 = and it snowed - in my subaru all was warm and safe = ploughing through sleet and hail - with spotted sun shine - GONDWANNA LAND = yes was connected and half the island = go have a look take your car from melbourne on the ship ! FUN DRIVING .
'For the never ending needs of man'... that'll come back to bite us.
The river was beautiful until man got involved and polluted it!
Yet another hydro electric dam..... And another. And another. And another. And...
Obviously there weren't any women in Tasmania until later.. "the river serves man"..lol
