One of the most difficult searches of me life it's been, and mind you, I once managed to find me car keys after they fell out of me pocket during a swim at the beach. Wrinkled up like a prune I was by the time I found thon keys in the surf. Toyota Camry, '97 I believe it was, absolutely top-notch vehicle. Bought it off a friend of mine, Conner Jackson. Had a face like a slapped arse, he did. Anywho, I only managed to find the keys on account of steppin' on the marlin spike that I kept on the ring. When I felt thon sharp pain shoot up through the roof of me foot, I remember sayin' to meself, says I "Aye, Josh, the lord does indeed giveth with one hand...and taketh away with the other."

And a supergrass was a republican secretly turned informer by Special Branch. Hard words. The absolute lowest of the low in the North. Beyond knee capping country . The comment matches the later bag (bomb) and the Provo balaclava reference. Very dark subtext. Typical Troubles gallows humour. Heard a lot of it when I taught in a special school in Lurgan in the 90s. And also from my cousins in Derry at the time. At one level or another everyone in this show is under stress and the humour is the relief valve. Very, very Irish in its use of imagery, body language and spoken language. We Australians have a fair bit of it as well.
