I was schooled in Cork in the seventies, where we'd get the occasional guy with an English accent, whose family returned in a rare bit of reverse migration. But I don't recall any of them getting a hard time over it. Perhaps Cork was too far from the conflict in the Six Counties for English accents to be a big deal.
Terrific show. American grew up in US and Scot, Irish decent. My son Irish Scot and English decent. I remember hearing about this time in the news and through the music that was coming out of Ireland. I love the humor in conjunction with the fright and seriousness of that time.
