bro, this is my entire semester's knowledge right here, more so even. youtube teachers are way better than actual professors. you need a raise on youtube money just cuz ur helping out alot of people. and since its free, youtube should double or triple your money for it.

13 minutes into the video but I already feel like I'm not gonna fail my mid-term (on Derivatives) if I just watch this video carefully and practice all the examples!
Awesome explanation as I was a staff engineer/ scientist at IBM and will use your work to teach my grandchildren.

I dunno why this just touched my heart
I needed a refresher on exponentials so I’m so happy you posted this. Also huge thank you for adding time stamps, you’re a life saver 🙌🏼
This channel is genuinely such a blessing. Thank you so much, there's no way I'd get thru calc without you
Thank you for making this. I was faced with a problem in my Cost Estimating class that required a derivative to solve. The book assumed we already knew derivatives and how to apply them to solve the problems in this chapter, quite literally going, "And you just use a derivative to solve. Remember? Like you did in calculus," before moving on. This has been a life saver both from me failing my homework and from the heart attack I probably would've had malding over this assignment asking for skills the class never taught me.
i absolutely love how you start from the beginning and do not assume we have a phd in the subject. thank you so much

How’d you go from an algebra test to a trigonometric test in the time frame of a few weeks
3 minutes in and this has already taught me more than my Calculus teacher has taught me in a month. You are the GOAT! Question tho, what does d/dx translate to in the equation 6x^8? Is it just to notate that we need to find the derivative? Or does it relate the same way y= mx +b would relate to y= 3x+15? *edit: Never mind he answers this at 4:08 it is just a notation to say “find the derivative of-”

This is the best KZread chanel when it comes to Math. This boy is saving my bachelor in economics. I couldn't thank you enough
I just got to understand everything in an hour and the last 3 months hard to understand. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work.
It does not matter how far I get into calculus I always love to refresh the basics of it. Great course.
Thank you so much!! This is so helpful especially as I am doing online lesson due to you know... covid. I was so lost after class but believe me when I say You have SAVED MY LIFE! Thank you and God Bless! x
My high school physics teacher was explaining velocity, speed, and acceleration and how acceleration describes the change in speed. I kept asking him about the "change in the rate of acceleration" and he said something like "change in acceleration is called jerk, then change in jerk is called snap, then it's crackle and pop, but what you're asking about are called derivatives and you'll learn that in calculus." Now I'm here and it's all making sense. Graphing these as you go is helping me A TON. I'm seeing that the Y axis in the derivative function graph shows the slope of the curve in that X location of the original function's graph. The derivative of a constant is 0 because it does not change based on X and therefore has no effect on slope. Derivative of X is 1 because X has a 1:1 change relationship with itself. The whole point is to "flatten" everything by subtracting a power of 1, so that we can get a "more linear" or "less parabolic" perspective on what is happening to the curve as X changes. We are not describing the results of an equation, instead we are concentrating the behavior of the equation into another more concise equation. It's awesome that calculus was invented and that we get to do this sort of analysis of mathematical abstractions. Science is able to take complex natural phenomena and describe them in easily digestible explanations, almost like a derivative of nature. Math is beautiful.
I just learned about everything I've been doing wrong for the past term!! Thank you, I owe you my diploma!!
I have watched many of your videos. this one is by far the best explained so far. constantly going back to the simple math to explain what is going on is brilliant.

The part where we solved derivatives of the trigonometric functions was actually really fun, i couldn't understanding them at first and was just writing along, then finally i understood the concept and the steps
I am going to 4th grade and I love math and one of my favorites are these types of math and now I understand more about calculus Ty
This is very clear! I love the thorough examples! I haven't touched derivatives since 1998! I don't even think I understood this back then!
his voice are now more clearer and the calculations he write are smooth!!
You my friend, deserve a huge salary for all you do. You're saving me in college
What an incredible introduction to derivatives!
Not only did I learn derivatives, I also learned that you can replace the 1 by the number of the other denominator for easier fractional substraction.
this was amazing saved me hours of practice keep up the good work man
I viewed this video and just gave to me enough of the courage to absolutely continue with my high school know after the longer covid holiday chill. It's good
Thank you very much sir, I am very contended with your videos and explanations. All the best!
I wish this guy was the professor to all my classes... he basically is at this point

Your explanation can easily be understood. Thanks.

Also when applying the chain rule to more than 2 functions is it ok to work from inner to outer or must it always be from outer to inner?
