Some people complain about the track now being too slow, but that track was ridiculously dangerous back then.

In my opinion they should've tried to move Tamborello corner closer to the left, effectively creating more runoff to the outside. They should've also moved the wall as far back as possible and added multiple tyre layers. I would've loved to see how this would've turned out.

@@BlocAutosport I think moving the wall and create more run-off area was their first option but there's a river right after that wall, so they couldn't do it. As for the Villeneuve Turn, they also couldn' create a run-off area because the straight after Tossa turn is right there.

The flow of the old track was really nice, and it was a much quicker one. They should have brought Tamburello right up against the track to eliminate crash angle, or suspend Imola until SAFER barriers were invented. I genuienly think this old layout was better but the bitter memories mean that we won't get the layout back for sure

Ridiculously dangerous? There were only 3 fatal accidents at Imola in its whole history and 2 of them happened at the same race. This call for "safety" has ruined many great race tracks.

In the old track, before a chicane was made, the corner of the Tamburello was not a corner, but two half cormers, with a straight in the middle, which the F1 cars were doing almost at full speed.

Double apex is the term you're looking for. Racing line will touch the kerbs of both apexes.

Feels like a race lap? He wasn't on the absolute edge, I feel, but seemingly in race pace mode: quick but careful.
