This is a brilliant, modern version of an old song. Should be released all over Europe
Just what this song should be. Fast and fun. Sung with proper emotion.
Not Irish but after spending a week with my aunt and Irish uncle and listening to this, I can’t help but be completely in love with this music lol

I thought it was Scots when I learnt it at school, but so much Celtic stuff is shared by Scotland and Ireland, so could be both or either maybe?
You’d be surprised just how popular this song is in the UK, England especially. Despite our somewhat turbulent past, there seems to be a real love for Irish music here.

As much as I love the Planxty/Christy Moore versions of this song, it's actually Scottish in origin as far as I know.

@@Nikeeirelol. it's easy to take somebody else's sang and improve on it. when irish music first started in the late 50's they adopted the fun/raucous/nonsense style o scottish music adopting many sangs from scotland and england( a know because a was around then).bob dylan did the same with seven melodies from scottish sangs. rod stewart took the scottish sang "sailing" and improved on it. nothing to difficult about that.

Wow!! So weird I could only remember one line from this song. We used to sing it in my music class over 30 years ago!
Great video!! Very true to the energy and sentiment of the song. The fire and dancing look amazing! Well done,..great version of the song too!
10 years ago, I knew a girl who looked almost exactly like the dancer here. I was still in contact with her on facebook when I discovered this video about 6 years ago. Out of curiosity to whether they really looked alike or if it was just me, I send her the link to this video with no explanation or context. The next day she sent back the message, 'Holy crap that dancer could be my sister!' So I guess it wasn't just me.

Just what every Celtic singer needs, an overly made-up belly dancer in a tacky club dress, gyrating behind him! Still, she's not nearly as bad as the full studio production they loaded this song down with.

@TheMiniGecko im not knocking them, there a nomadic people like gypsies but they're essentially Irish, Romany Folk originate from India, its why they're mostly dark skinned, The English Traveller Community are an offshoot of these people, they follow the same ways and adhere strictly to certain ways, they use Sanscrit words for lots of everyday objects, You won't find this in the Irish Traveller Community, they have no ways or language that can be traced back to India, for the simple reason, they're Irish and always have been, they can never be Romany or Roma, inspite of there nomadic existence, there is a word for them but i wont share it here
