Depeche Mode - Shake the Disease (Demo)

Музыка

This is the original demo by Martin Gore of Shake the Disease. Amazing song, too bad it didn't make it on Black Celebration. You can hear the lyrics are a bit different towards the end.
I don't take credit for this, I just stumbled upon it on the internet.

@@FlickanIDetKroktaRummet 1. it is just a demo recorded on a Casio at home when his inspiration hit him, but with all the parts of the EP track (synths, bass etc) 2. Martin never release vocal tracks composed by him with other project than DM , Counterfaith is a cover album, the rest are instrumentals ;) 3. Alan was a good orchestrator/sound designer BUT without Martin genius compositions it was no DM after Speak and Spell, composition is outstanding on this track and even Alan said he is not able to do this, this kind of track don't need electronics to be great

This really surprised me. Shake the disease is my favourite depeche mode track. I always thought that Martin Gore's demos were only the lead melody and chord structure of the track, which was then taken by Alan, or whatever producer .. who would arrange and provide the accompanying parts. This has more or less all of the melodies and motifs of the released single. The difference being the sound design and production. Thanks for sharing.

@MrChoptastic The person who writes the songs and it is a demo? How the hell is this fake?

Shake the disease showcases the value of the production. Demo is like a cheap lullaby and album version is a well-polished, distinct, strong anthem. Also, Dave's voice makes the entire difference.

I love this version, but like most demos posted on to the net or You Tube I can't say if it's real or not. All I know is if it's not on a official release by DM it's not real for me.

Thank You, I have about everything officially released by DM, only a few bootlegs ( I keep them as souvenir ) I try to keep things Authentic. Like the car I use to have - was the orig. Car from 101 Film. I sold it in an auction. Unless one of the DM gives me a copy in person of their material.... I mean, I like some stuff out there, but I don't consider them .... Just like so many cover songs... There only few that I like. Example : Tori Amos - Enjoy The Silence or Johnny Cash - Personal Jesus etc. All other are just so... stuff like the Rammstein version of Stripped , MM -Personal J. are just ok......not Great!

@@deanosaur808 One does not eliminate the other. And yes, without Alan Wilder almost all of DM's music would have sounded like a simple demo. RHYTHM made us fall in love with DM, and that rhythm was created by Alan Wilder.

Мартин большой талант в написании стихов к своим песням. На этом все, он не музыкант. Его домо версии - это сырой пилотный вариант. Алан из этих никчемных обрубков, как настоящий музыкант, делал хиты.
