Depeche Mode - Shake the Disease (Demo)
Музыка
This is the original demo by Martin Gore of Shake the Disease. Amazing song, too bad it didn't make it on Black Celebration. You can hear the lyrics are a bit different towards the end.
I don't take credit for this, I just stumbled upon it on the internet.

I like that polyphonic melody and counter-melody that he creates towards the end with the synthesizers, it looks like something written by Bach

@@FlickanIDetKroktaRummet 1. it is just a demo recorded on a Casio at home when his inspiration hit him, but with all the parts of the EP track (synths, bass etc) 2. Martin never release vocal tracks composed by him with other project than DM , Counterfaith is a cover album, the rest are instrumentals ;) 3. Alan was a good orchestrator/sound designer BUT without Martin genius compositions it was no DM after Speak and Spell, composition is outstanding on this track and even Alan said he is not able to do this, this kind of track don't need electronics to be great
This is probably my favorite demo. Martin is a genius.
This is... pure magic. I'm addicted to this demo. And the one from 'Here is the House' and 'Lie to Me'. Shake The Disease is my fav song in the world, and today I discovered this amazing demo. When I listen to it, I can't think. I feel like this song is the world, the only thing that exists. It makes me cry, smile, dance. I love it. It's like a coup de foudre with a song... Martin is a genius, and DM are my life and my saviors
He's a genius song writer Martin Gore , all details already in his head, beautiful melodies with soul and Alan Wilder carried this song to top with his arrangement and sound skills, early 80s , depeche mode was so magical, thanks for this demo video

my favortie era of Depeche Mode. did'nt care for anything they released after this time period.
This really surprised me. Shake the disease is my favourite depeche mode track. I always thought that Martin Gore's demos were only the lead melody and chord structure of the track, which was then taken by Alan, or whatever producer .. who would arrange and provide the accompanying parts. This has more or less all of the melodies and motifs of the released single. The difference being the sound design and production. Thanks for sharing.

Not until Violator. Gore wrote almost everything prior, until the rest of the band asked him to come in with more stripped down songs, so they could have more input
This is the most adorable thing I have EVER heard.

This is so amazing! I love the whole mono tone cheap Casio keyboard esthetic. How you make this song sound kinda simple and easy to create, but its very catchy but sounds a lil ahead of its time. We as the world of humans just wasn't ready for that. Our ears wasn't ready for that lil tune. IDK? I stop thnkn bout what I was typing when it ended.
This is the product of a genius, to the great Martin L. Gore! Cheers!

It's almost a completly different element from the released version, and it's AMAZING! I've noticed the intro is completely changed, the drums have different pattern, the snare drum isn't as... "Powerful." I don't quite hear a kick drum... The "Organ," I guess, isn't as quite reverbed, and a little higher pitched. The song overall is calmer. I must say, this is probably my favorite demo!
