Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan: “This is probably the closest I’ve come to showing you who I am.”
Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan sits down with Kyle Meredith to talk about Imposter, his new album with Soulsavers that finds him covering some of his all-time favorite songs that speak to his current moment in life. The alt legend discusses recording these songs as his own confessional and taking on songs from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Mark Lanagan, PJ Harvey, and Cat Power. With those last two, Gahan tells us about the differences for him when it comes to singing a song from a female perspective and tips us off that he also recorded a version of Cat Power’s Manhattan that may be released later.

Depeche Mode are one of the greatest bands of all time. Truly revolutionary
Always loved his baritone voice because I can sing along in the same range for all the Depeche Mode songs. Wish more leas singers had wonderful a voice like Mr. Gahan.
Dave is the soundtrack to my life and a massive inspiration for my own music. I hope he and DM keep making music for years to come

Amazing interview, just sitting here and listen to Dave. Dave - I absolutely love you! But please, can't you sing But not tonight in the original mix live next time once and for all? I sing it and play it almost every day on the piano and when I go to sleep or when Im on my way somewhere... and yeah, ppl crave another Pasadena 101 '88 concert once again!

Thankyou for all your ups and downs, it's real but so are you use to lie in my bedroom listening to tape after tape in the 80s had the old ghetto blaster the tape used to play one side then would play side b all night, speak and spell, broken frame ,music for the masses, black celebration had my girlfriend next to me and she got the music played it to her nearly every night..
