In fact, many factors influenced Alan Wilder's departure, and it is understandable. His work and processing in the studio was often underestimated by other band members, although thanks to him DM owes its multi-layered sound and excellent arrangement. Frequent arguments with Martin, which became unbearable during the creation of the SOFAD and Devotional tour. Also in relation to the distribution of funds between band members, when Alan received the least of all, but worked more and harder on the albums (it’s especially crazy to hear this against the backdrop of stories when Martin read football news with Fletch, and Alan and producer Flood were looking for a better sound and recorded live drums)
