Depeche Mode is such a great band. What started as an electric pop band really evolved in one of the great rock bands of the last decades. And my God yes what a singular and great voice. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. Definitively compelling dance but not to silly words , but to meaningful ones. A song which allies rhythm with sense is so rare...

Lol, I remember those crazy haircuts firsthand...I was a big New Waver in the 1980's. Seems so loopy in retrospect, but we had good, clean fun with our friends, enjoying freedom to the max!!

This is a great song. The 80s was best. Man, I missed the good old days. I wished I have a time machine. :-(

nothing compares to the lovely mechanic sounds of depeche. Love it !!
I love this song for it's lyrical simplicity. The same goes for the majority of Depeche Mode's back catalogue. Nowadays, repetition is rife in pop music because apparently nobody has anything interesting to say and lack the imagination to think of another rhyming line. Songs are about the exploitation of sex, dancing in nightclubs or just nothing much at all. Martin was making a point. Depeche Mode Always made a point. Lyrically and musically, Depeche Mode knock the socks off today's rubbish.

This song is even more relevant nowadays, it seems. Now we have people unfriending, fighting both verbally and physically, and violently rioting over political disagreements, etc. It used to be that family and friends voted differently than each other and could even discuss their differences of opinions, and that was OK. Now, people actually ignore and hate each other over it, or get violent over it. It is so stupid. I remember this song so well from my youth, but I did not fully grasp the meaning at that time other than I agreed that we should be nice to each other. Now, in our current situation in the USA, I see an entirely new spin on this song and how it seems as though it was made for today's circumstances. I guess it is a timeless song. It's meaning never changes because it speaks eternal truth. Why should we hate each other? Seeing the video along with hearing the words helps to grasp it so much better. 💜💔
