My brother, when he was 16, was going to lagoon with his two best friends and he was playing this song in the bus. He said that he would like this song to be played on his funeral one day. The same day, few hours later, he tragically drowned in the lagoon. The song was played on his funeral, like he wished to (unconsciously not knowing what was going to happen...). He was a very big fan of Depeche Mode and we buried him with an album of them and his headphones too. It was in August last year. We will never forget him and this song will be always with us, for the rest of our lives. For us, the lyrics are definitely not about drugs - they are about that one day and his feelings....

I'm ten and I love the song

Revisiting this song because it was my teen mom’s favorite album. This will forever be one of the first songs I remember listening to as a toddler. A memory I will forever cherish when life was “fresh”. Still listen to this song to 4:26 day and remember to “good times”

This song always reminds me of a specific moment in 1992 when I was 18. Me and my best friend were listening to this in his new car, a 1985 Pontiac Fiero, and after "I'm taking a ride with my best friend" played my buddy added "...in his new car." The best of times.

I am 45 years old. I often have fits of Depeche Mode where I only listen to that. It's been going on for 30 years. The attacks last 2 to 3 months and I have 5 or 6 per year...
ya habia escuchado a Depeche Mode , pero con la serie TLOU , fue un tremendo cierre de primer capitulo , totalmente expectacular , mucha intriga y con ganas de mas

A masterpiece that truly captures the sound of the 80s, proto industrial, and goth rock.

And well deserved, should have been in a long ago!!! Long live Depeche Mode!!!
Saw Depeche Mode in Glasgow in January, they sang this during the encore, was amazing!!
I love this song so much, been listening to it for months now. Love it even more because it features an Isetta, very cool.
I am sincerely grateful to Dafuq for the fact that thanks to his video, many people will recognize such legendary music. It's really wholesome

When I hear this song, I can't even put into words all the emotions I feel all at once. It makes me feel like I'm 14 again, hanging out in my best friends bedroom, carrying on our daily Depeche mode concert on her day bed....music for the masses..or music for 2! I feel a great loss, sadness...that shes been gone for 12 years! I listen to this song with tears in my eyes, because I miss her so much and it still hurts...but I picture her sitting next to me while I play this song, we sing it together, just like we used to...all those years ago.

Sadly, time flies, all we can do is remember with love
That's EXACTLY when they became a serious rock 'n' roll band. Respect to Mr. Bascombe for engineering those massive drums and wonderful cinematic reverbs. My all-time favorite Depeche Mode LP.
This has been one of my favourite songs by one of my absolute favourite bands since 1987. Nothing to do with "The Last of Us". This is not pop music. It's a masterpiece.
I love the meaning of using this song in the latest episode. Titan Cameraman really is taking a ride with his best friend.
