He truly seems like a gentle soul and smiles so easily. You can tell how much he and Dave like each other. I think that Dave had said that Martin was a genius! Also, more than once in interviews, Dave said that he always felt like an 'imposter', since he didn't have Martin's talent, that he was just the front man! D.M. wouldn't have existed without all of them.

it is just amazing the process and changes that martin's music went through, the song was born in its purest form and then alan wilder came in and twisted everything into electronic sounds, I heard once martin loves johnny cash, now i don't doubt it :)
@carolmedina2980
6 жыл бұрын
I disagree, Alan Wilder was absolutely a vital part of what made Depeche Mode great, and he came in early ....so early, that no one except hardcore DM fans even knew anything about Vince Clarke. Not saying Vince Clarke is no good, but Alan deserves more credit imo than what you are giving. DM has evolved. I agree, but at the same time, I have not been able to listen to anything fully after Songs of Faith and Devotion. (as a whole album) I don't think they have a cohesive sound anymore. Sad, but true, to me. I'm old, so I was listening to them from almost the very start. This, of course, is just my opinion, doesn't have to make it your truth, and this is 4 years old, so you most likely have forgotten you even wrote this post. Cheers.

You make it sound as if Alan Wilder is solely responsible or at fault for taking away the songs originality or making it electronic. The band itself want the music to be electronic. The band themselves really liked Alan's imagery & for the music to be finalized as the band themselves knew he would polish them up afterwards as the band themselves hated the finalization of that process & Alan was a perfectionist in his art.

+Elizabeth H My pleasure, they are both real gems!
it is just amazing the process and changes that martin's music went through, the song was born in its purest form and then alan wilder came in and twisted everything into electronic sounds, I heard once martin loves johnny cash, now i don't doubt it :)

Cheers.

So inspiring to wannabe guitarists and singers like myself. MG is pretty much in a class by himself.

Yes, very much so. Such a shame that Martin does not do his solos on his own any more. Just him singing and accompanieng himself on the guitar. Siiiiiiigggh!
You just can not do anything about this man, but respect him. The man with the wings. Martin means Depeche. Tony, Greece.

С удовольствием! Love this versions as well
It's better if Martin plays an acoustic version by himself, Dave can't sing this song (well) in the right key when they play it live.
Lascio un ❤ per martin lee gore.sei troppo bravo!
They need to start releasing material from the world violation tour, even if it is just audio.
Wow!!
Great song, thanks for this rare upload.

@UncleSamFisher sorry, I am not sure about this! If somebody knows it please post it!
You can't, it's simply not possible.
@ karimamilena GIBT ES DA viele gute Lieder von Martin Das stimmt. DENN du Pays Welche finderst besser? gruß logen9finger
Is he playing standart tuning ? Every tab i found states Cm D# G# G, but it doesn't feel right, can anyone help ? It feels like Bm D G F#.
