Man I wish I could personally thank Wilder. I'm 21 and started to box in October, just like him the only experience I've had in fighting is street fight & only sport I've played was football but that didn't last long. Boxing has become such a passion for me where I've had the thought of competing. But seeing every great boxer or anyone who has boxed, have started at a young age. It discouraged me a little because I felt like it was to late for me. But I wanted to go agaisnt the odds and still train to compete, knowing I got a long way to go wanting to put in the hard work & sacrifices. And seeing this video and hearing wilder sharing his story and knowing now he started at 21 has given me that little extra push of confidence I needed. I thank him for this and have utmost respect for him

Greats? Let's not get carried away now lmao! He wasn't even a good boxer, let alone a great one. He had a very good right hand and was matched against small, chinny guys with tons of losses on their records to make himself look good. E.g. In his 27th fight as a pro, he fought a part time boxer with a 15-8 record who had been multiple KO losses going in to the fight. That was 27 fights in to his pro career! Most pros are fighting or defending world titles by that point. Not knocking out part time stiffs with no chin. The guys he fought in world title fights were either ancient or terrible. To a person. They were terrible. First good boxer he fought who could do 12 rounds at a decent pace was Fury, and he lost to him 3 times (first fight was a shocking decision).
