By the end of this, they both look exhausted!! Regardless of how our present-day, ultra-modern, ultra-quick dentistry experiences may be changing our views on the industry, I think we owe these young ladies a round of virtual applause for doing their part in keeping us all well. 👏👏👏

i think this was old enough that X-rays weren't that common in dentistry

thats common in comparing these types of videos to real life experiences, with me anyway. i watch a lot of medical exam student videos and doctors never ask that many questions or examine as many things in one visit as they do in the videos, mind you in real life most clinicians dont have loads of time with other appts they have to squeeze in

This video made for education and for improving the diagnosis skills for students in dentistry school
Never been to the dentist alot because I've had pretty good teeth but I've neverrrrrr heard of putting carbon paper on teeth or a vitalometor. I'd imagine dentistry has changed dramatically in 45 years.

Dentistry has certainly changed a lot since the filming of this. That being said articulation paper and electronic pulp testing are both used in dentistry very often today.

They used carbon paper on me back in the 90’s.

Being a dental professional things have changed but these are still used today. Carbon paper aka articulating paper is used to check occlusion with any type of restoration (filling, crowns, etc) and the vitalometer is used most likely in a endodontists office (root canal specialist)

Came here to say this! Also instead of ice for a vitality test, we often use ethyl chloride spray on a cotton pellet as it’s extremely cold 😊
She's only wearing finger condems😐
This is how long you take anamnesis at dental school. In reality you can't. even the patient thinks that you are a bit crazy. (come on fill my tooth doc!)
What vault did they dig this out of lol

No gloves

Look at her fingers. She doesn't cram her whole hand into the patient's mouth. She only uses her fingers and as you can see she has already put a layer of latex over her fingers before the oral exam.

@@angelicafoster670 not that recent. They didn't start wearing gloves until like mid 1980s after the AIDS/HIV scare.
