Yes, this is an amazing amp. So many people overlook these Denon amps. These Denons are probably the only amps, I would say, that truly punch above their weight in terms of cost. I have always heard that 'this or that' audio product is worth more than its cost, but most of the time this is not true as the products being compared are over priced to begin with.

I've used this exact amp in my main system since 2008. Everything said in this video jives with my experience perfectly. It's very powerful & well built, with a clean, punchy, and controlled sound. I even had the same problem with the input selector. After using the amp for about 9 yrs, the input would randomly change without me touching anything. It was really frustrating. I took it to my local Denon authorized service center. They cleaned out & re-lubed the potentiometer, & it's been back to perfect since then. Great, great value. I also plan to keep mine for a lifetime.

That is exactly how I feel about my Yamaha 2100, solid build quality, nothing that will become dated over time and since I still have my first Kenwood integrated at 32 years old I feel safe saying the Yamaha will last a lifetime. Of course it has already gained a tube based sibling, but aside from the warm tone they both have very different strengths. What seemed like good value to me sitting just below the Yamaha 3000, now seems ridiculous value sporting the same topology and balanced circuit as the $20k separates. I can't wait to hear the Demon at 500hrs. Enjoy, my friend.

I would say my POA-6600 mono blocks with DAP-5500 are the Grandparents to this. I’m still using the preamp in my system. And the mono blocks are still used when I choose not to run my tube amps They have been used with my Martin Logan Sequel IIs also purchased in early 90s. I’ve not had any issues running the Logan’s with the POA 6600. Build quality is very good copper shield as seen in your video. I’ve been very happy with them other wise I wouldn’t have kept them all of these years. I do use my tube amps 98% of the time now but the POA are hooked up and ready to go!!!

Thats a badass amp period ! My Sansui G-8000 was 975.00US new in 1979 built in japan and the toridal transformer is the size of most amps now days lol and it scales like no other amp i have owned even better than my HK 990 which was good . I have owned many Denon amps and i like the Denon sound muscler and they sound great on most budget bright speakers the warm/richness really calms down metal dome tweeters and horns . I have bought over a dozen amps from the end of 2018 till now and for the money the IOTAVX-STACK (Nakamichi) has blown me away basically 2 separate mono amps one for each speakers this gives you alot more power 2 wall plugs ins but your getting 240v instead of 120 !! So musical with amazing midrange . But so glad you sticking with Denon I absouletly love Denon also ! Very reliable !

Regarding robustness, the main difference between BJT and FET is that BJT has limited safe operating area, so the output devices need to be carefully protected against even moderate current when Vce is high. FET devices are only power-dissipation limited and therefore more rugged. But both types of output stages are current-gain stages.

Recently Denon has introduced the NE series .From the Japanese website and interviews given by the designer (sound master) the NE series marks a new beginning.Sound is following a vivid and spacious design thinking.Using the 600NE and it has great price/performance . If i have understood correctly as i cant read japanese but the diagram shows that all the NE series is a single stage amplifier. Most metal-caps are on input sockets. This is for try or for believe because most of them are not at some Megaohms but shortened by 47kOhms inside. If the socket is an output socket, there is no use to shorten it. If you do, it depends, whether line output amp is of low impedance / high current (some high end preamps are, e.g. Symphonic Line), shortening may harm at high volume, when not designed correct (in case, nobody does short an preamp output by purpose, it‘s like shortening a power amp). But in most cases it doesn’t harm, most preamp outputs have still some 50 Ohm to 2kOhm output impedance.

Hello. At first i would like thank you for this video. Im searching for new amplifier for my "Quadral rhodium 90" speakers. Because im using Denon PMA-710AE at now. Im interested in higher grade amps from DENON and pma-2000 looks pretty nice. As competitor to PMA-2k im considering ONKYO A-9000R which is little cheaper on our bazaar and looks pretty solid too. What is your opinion to ONKYO A-9000R and my whole dilemma? Thanks for answear. Stay safe

What recommendations on stronger amplification the type of power that can drive most of the speakers out there with finesse. That to me is most important because I've changed speakers out many times and i prefer an amp to keep up with my pace, if i come across a speaker at a very good price i don't want to not get it because i have a bookshelf amp. I am about to upgrade my parasound a21 i haven't had any problems with it but it's time to move on. Something less than a used car.

Thank you so much for this question. I am also looking at the 1600NE since "the internet says" it offers a very close performance to 2500NE but for quite less of a price. However I see that I have several 2000AE and 2000R on the used market and paired with a DAC e.g like the Modi3 / topping D50 / SMSL SU-8, or even Node2, it then comes same price or even cheaper than a new 1600NE... which beggs the question , IS THAT A WISE STEP?, and what could be the major sound differences there? (Set aside the size differences and the fact you have more separates)
