Denny Hamlin on Stenhouse & Busch’s Brawl: "No One is at Fault, But Ricky Put Himself There."

Спорт

Following Joey Logano's impressive performance, Denny Hamlin dives into the significant changes at North Wilkesboro Speedway due to the repave and the strategic implications of the option tire, sharing his unique insights with co-host Jared Allen. However, Denny also acknowledges the overshadowing of Joey’s victory by the post-race altercation between Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch, offering his perspective on the incident and the parties involved.
Denny also opens up about the grueling physical demands of racing the Coke 600, a testament to the endurance required in NASCAR. He then shifts focus to his upcoming bracket tournament.
The episode concludes with a review from a new NASCAR fan who expresses support for Denny Hamlin and the 23XI Racing team.

As a die-hard JGR fan since there's been a JGR (born from being a Redskins fan since the early 80's), if you'd have told me a year ago that I'd be absolutely losing my shit cheering on Kyle Larson in a qualifying round, I'd have told you there was no chance. I'd have been wrong. That was one of the coolest, most exciting things I have ever seen, and I only cared because Kyle Larson was there. Indycar needs to do whatever it takes to get a NASCAR driver to do this every single year. There is a zero chance I was the only one watching Indycar qualifying for only one reason.

Tyre choice and fuel strategy would improve racing ? I know it works on street circuits in Ozzy Supercars , Great to see ford back , Cam Waters 3rd Sat ,, 1st Sunday , Tyre strategy played a part , Not sure this would work with Nascar , Still learning here 🙂

That was interesting how they had the optional red soft tire. That was kind of like a formula 1 race strategy.

Yeah, but the "option" tire for Goodyear was garbage. At least F1 tires actually fall off.

In Formula 1 Pirelli brings three tire compounds to the track (generally soft, medium,,hard) with different performance characteristics. Teams can use any strategy they want but they have to use at least two of the three. I don't know why NASCAR and Goodyear could not do the same.

Ok I'm one third in this video. And Denny is talking about load on the tires. Now as a short track driver I truly understand and appreciate what he is saying. Some many not. He's speaking truth here ppl. And Denny a thought that crossed my mind and I don't know if would have been legal. But when if you choose to put red soft on the left and yellow conventional on the right. Like we do with Hoosier 970s the left are softer then the rights? Plz answer this

Not mandating that teams should drive one of each option and prime sets is where NASCAR screwed up. Logano should have been forced to change from options to prime. Also, forcing EVERYONE to start on option tires was also silly. They should have left that decision to the crews.

everytime we get into discussions of tire wear i.e. lack of it and how it makes the racing boring because they just follow each other around, in almost every case i think "please just get rid of the stages!!!" i really think removing the stages would solve a lot of these issues!!

I guess we can scratch 'get rid of shifting' off the list of things that would help short tracks because it was gone last night and we saw the exact same thing. And the tires were trash once again which was the most apparent when Larson was on 45-50 laps fresher "reds" and still lost 3 seconds in the final 30 laps. I wonder if giving teams freedom with the gear ratios again might help since it would be a variable between the drivers in how they drive their cars and throw off the data sharing a bit because you couldn't copy someone running a different ratio. I'm also thinking the cars don't need the step up splitter at short tracks and road courses and that would add front down force snd reduce rear, which would make the cars have less inherent tightness. They need to throw some hay makers at this car for these tracks instead of just thumb wresting with their ass holes. Take a dozen cars to North Wilkesboro for 3 days and just go for it and make it happen. The teams are smart enough to solve the problems with the cars and it would be a big tire test too so that Goodyear can stop pussy footing around and actually make a good tire.

Stage racing should include the following- Fuel Run, Tire wear, both Stage 1- Fuel limit (Start race with Half tank,Quarter tank, etc) to allow for a green flag pit stop strategy Stage 2- should feature soft tires with excessive wear but laster lap times. 1 pit stop required Stage 3- longer lap segment with both tire options and is around +6/7 laps beyond the pit window
