I only just realised what a brilliant actor Nigel Harman was playing Dennis as a complex, damaged, streetwise, emotionally impenetrable but ultimately vulnerable young man with those undertones of still being a neglected child who craved being loved and wanted but struggled to allow himself to be. He managed to convey all these facets of Dennis brilliantly. His first scenes with Den were superb. It's just a shame that Den, in the end, didn't love him and got particularly nasty when it came to the Dennis-Sharon-Zoe love triangle. It is rare for a character to become so impactful and iconic in just two years on the show. I can't believe this was *TWENTY* years ago!

I couldn’t have put it better myself. Nigel managed to convey so many different emotions as Dennis and pulled each one off spectacularly. He was the same on casualty, as Max Christie.

He wasn't streetwise at all. Starting feuds with Johnny, Phil and Jack Dalton was anything but streetwise. If anything, it's downright stupid.

Im loving the classics from 20 years ago on daytime tv , i just can't believe i got old along the way ❤

Poor Dennis, he got shafted. I love the ending to this part, with him coming home and immediately backing Den up against those guys 🙂

I’ve already seen the part where Sharon and Den reunite but I never saw the rest of the scene until now, great upload.

Thanks for these mate! Eastenders was the one, back in the 90’s/early 00’s. I haven’t watched it in like 15 years, definitely enjoying watching the best era here though! 🍻

I know people loved the whole dennis and sharon storyline BUT i wished they'd have left that out because id have liked to have seen den and dennis form a real father and son relationship because when den came back in 2003 up until the end of that year it was fantastic and den and dennis working together to set phil up was great viewing BUT unfortunately when den came back in march 2004 it all went downhill. What was the point of den returning in the first place if the writers was going to part den away from his family so early on. It never made any sense to me.

It's nice to see Pat happy for once.

Back when eastenders still had glass. Unlike the fake washed up plastic its now become. Feels very strange watching this now though. Feels like i was watching this brand new only yesterday. The 2000's really rush by like fast running water!!!!! The saying, life is short, certainly is!

When sharon wanted den at her wedding to dennis was the worst story line !!!could you imagine the invitation dennis watts gives his daughter to his son she was adopted but could never get it through her head ..the story writers had a lot to answer for Sharon looked awful at her wedding..love dennis rickman❤

Men bond through mutual protection. As soon as Father and son through those blokes out then they were a working unit.

Nigel Harman.... charisma. Something the show is sadly lacking.

with chrissie coming back maybe den should come back from the dead again not even sure if that can save the show now
