Saw him in Minneapolis a couple years ago with Victor. He was sitting at the bar after the show and I could not bring myself to go up to him. Girlfriend couldn't understand why I could not muster the courage to meet him. He didn't look nearly this bad then. ☹️

To come back sounding like this after his illness is nothing short of amazing!! The first time I heard him, he scared the crap out of me with those monster grooves and his frighteningly fast singles around the kit!! He's making that set sing! God speed Mr. Chambers!

Hey Dennis. We have never met but we both belong to a era that they called old school. I hope you see this post. I am a 73 year old man. I played drums in my younger days and over the years I never got to play anymore after I went to Vietnam. I then went on to raise my family. Just 6 months ago, I got the urge to play again. We had different heads back than and note tuning was done by ear. Well, it has been aggravating for me to get the sound I want to feel like the old me. I copied your settings and am well pleased. Thank you for sharing my brother. Wishing you good health. Brother Orlando!!!

I've been witnessing Dennis since his days with parliament funkadelic in the 80s. I have to say that he still has the upper edge. He is an extraordinary all around drummer who can play anything extremely well. Unlike other drummers he colors the music in a flawless manner with lots of finesse that is very often unheard. He will make any musical situation sound great. He in my view was also the greatest drummer that ever played with parliament funkadelic hands down.

@@kingdavidike-elechi9707 This sounds awfully messy. Chambers is not as his peak. There are times here where im asking myself - what is happening? Just listen to the music, dude. Is it tight? No, its all over the place. He hits the accents and all that, but it just doesnt groove and when he turns the groove around the groove just dies. The mix doesnt help, but Chambers used to be a 100 times better than this. I love DC, but this is clearly not his best performance. Terrible mix too. IF they even tried to mix it.

@@jonathanmelendez23 there's no "god," my friend. Wake up and smell reality! Use more realistic words, than "god given talent!" Nothing is "god" given. We learn, associate, and gravitate towards whatever is naturally appealing to us, according to our surroundings and our up bringing. It's a desire that turns into passion and when we engage it, it becomes a form of natural expression, and (obviously) we get better at it. If Dennis (or ANYONE, for that matter) was brought up elsewhere or with different people and surroundings, drumming could have been something he had absolutely NO desire or interest in, therefore, wouldn't know how to play. Nobody is born with a talent! You develope interest, based on your surroundings and influences, you learn, and gravitate towards whatever and become "good" at it. Where's the talented, "powerful god," curing the suffering, dying children in all children's hospitals? And, even if there WERE such a character, this thing's a judgemental, jealous, angry, perverted, UNloving, WEAK-ass son of a bitch that should be tortured! Dude, wake up! I worked for PolyGram from 1988 to 1992 and I saw Dennis with John Scofield twice. Both times were at The Bottom Line in NYC. The first time was during the Loud Jazz tour and the second time when the band was touring to support the Pick Hits Live album. I also saw him last year in May 2019 at The Iridium in NYC w/ Moshulu (David Sancious, Jeff Berlin and Oz Noy). He looked fine and played brilliantly, so I was a little shocked to see this and the recent Zildjian Live video. He’s STILL a genius level powerhand I hope he gets better soon.
