The world has changed so much since the 40's & 50's - for the best generally at least in the Western World.

Thanks for Uploading it! Very interesting. Love to see how things changed over time! Sorry for my fellow, unfriendly germans. This society just gets more dumb day by day. Miss the time when being honest and friendly was normal. Anyway. Thank you!

Thanks Chronic, I thought it was an interesting film & piece of history that I found on a now defunct website when researching the history of Espelkamp. In the 80's here in Australia, we used to watch the main character, Horst Tappert on SBS TV in Inspector Derrick - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derrick_(TV_series)

Hi Raketenheinz, if you have a look at the source file at www.routemigration.angekommen.com/themen.php?thema_id=2&erinnerungsort=espelkamp then download & watch using say VLC Media Player I think you will find the quality of the video file is limited by the quality of the source file. Still it is watchable & a tribute to the post war refugees that really founded Espelkamp and turned it into the modern town it is today :-)

He is now less remembered in popular culture now since it was revealed he was a trooper in the SS Totenkopf division in his younger days.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst_Tappert?wprov=sfla1 Pity because we enjoyed Derrick.

Etwa 4.000 hier. www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/dec/22/a-different-planet-displaced-by-war-ukrainians-prepare-for-a-surreal-first-christmas-in-australia# :~:text=Seit%2024%20Februar%2C%20als%20Russische,%20große%20Städte%2C%20denkt%20an%20Zuhause.
