For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.
Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.
‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.
It's Only Real is released on vinyl and digitally in early December.

Hearing this at 5 in the morning at Warehouse Project last year was magical
I was on the bus with all my mates on the way to a party with 9 disco biscuits and we turned up and had 1 disco biscuit each between 3 of us and i remember just dancing with all my mates listening to this tune sending us scatty and ive got to say it was the best night of my life we all got off our cakes listening to this song. best song ever.

I kind off left the Techno scene in 1999/2000 and only listened to Drum& Bass (Metalheadz Rec, Soul:R etc ) and Ambient (Steve Roach, John Serrie etc.). Now and then I feel like browsing Techno, Trance, Dub, UK Garage etc... For me it's hard to find Techno I enjoy, I grew up in Berlin...ninties...so I seen the first Love Parade, Bunker, Tresor, Mayday Races etc...and it seldomly happens that I come across a track that sounds incredible....this is one of these treasures I will come back to
Denis Sulta comes from Glasgow and plays very warm and sunny tunes combined with simple straight house beats

Man, the covid bs almost took my sanity. Just this saturday I came back to clubbing (house music of course, Deaf Pillow and Steve Lawler) after more than ten years! (I was a dj back in the day, and Im producing some cool house tunes again nowadays). Go figure!
