    It seems so easy on model...but when you are actually doing extraction of upper first premolar of older patients then you you will know how difficult to lexate...

    definitely agreed. especially lower premolar of old patient. that luxation technique of video brings almost nothing to luxate tooth.

    extractions on children are easy compared to adults because of denser bone. Severing the PDL, applying fair force and finding that purchase point then luxaring is very technique and experience dependent. But knowing what you searching for is half of the solution 👌

    I've pulled teeth without any luxation. The hard part was holding my lower jaw open and finding the right size vice grips and adjusting them bit by bit. I really should have recorded it.

    Great video!!! one question ; i thought we werent supposed to rotate 1st Premolars while extracting as it increases the risk of fracturing the roots?

  • @linamuhammed1828

    @linamuhammed1828

    3 жыл бұрын

    yes i thought that two. i know that rotating movements during extraction are only for upper 1 and lower 5 because they have conical roots

  • @sherryhere8498

    Single rooted teeth can be rotated without fracturing. But rotation is not recommended in cases of more than one roots

    They extracted the upper 5 and lower 4, so its ok to use some rotation.

  • @atulsingh958

    Rotation here is a subtle, gentle clockwise and anticlockwise back and forth movement.....this severs the periodontal attachment and hence helps in easy delivery of the tooth.

    Most of the blade is thicker than the PDL space and requires compression of bone in order to be inserted. Do you think there might be cases where the bone is so dense and the PDL space so narrowed that luxator technique is not possible?

    I Saw on a British clinic's website of some Orthodontic Case Examples, One was of a Girl that they treated Non-Extraction with "DAMON Braces", in under a year.... Interestingly they also mentioned that she was initially going to get Braces under the NHS, but she was REFUSED NON-EXTRACTION, by an NHS Orthocuntist who would've insisted that the girl have 4 Teeth Removed for Braces, even though it was unnecessary, and that the NHS "Extraction-Plan" Was estimated to take around 2 years to complete. Extraction/Retraction, is often a largely outdated, and often unnecessary removal of teeth for Braces, and it's been known to affect the appearance of the Face, aswell as Reduce Lip Support, Reduce Tongue Space, and Even cause or exacerbate Issues with TMJs (Jaw Joints) and upper airway, American Airway-focused Orthodontist, Dr William "Bill" Hang, says he stopped pulling out teeth for Braces around 30 years ago, and has preached about the harm of Extraction/Retraction Orthodontics.

    Hi there, bit late but If you have a displaced maxillary canine tooth, then it's likely the result of having an upper dental arch and palate that is too narrow for all the teeth to fit in properly, it would probably be better to do nothing than to get that tooth extracted.

And an Orthodontist, Dr Derek Mahony years ago on a documentary mentioned patients being deceived into getting unnecessary Extractions, saying that the previous year he saw 163 people for 2nd opinions, and all were able to be treated without Extractions, (yet elsewhere they were told they'd need the "4 on the floor")

    For Extraction/Retraction Orthodontics, which is often an unnecessary, outdated treatment, with Known Harmful effects, and Can Adversely affect Smile/Facial Appearance, Reduce Lip Support, aswell as Reducing Tongue Space, and can cause or Excerbate Jaw Joint Issues, and even affect the Upper Airway. Patients are still being deceived into getting unnecessary Extractions for Braces (often as many as 4 premolars/bicuspids) (Violating medical Ethics of "Do No Harm" and "Informed Consent" Speaking of which, so-called Consent Forms, still downplay and even withhold known adverse effects of Orthodontics) There are even some Orthodontists and Dentists who advise against getting Teeth Pulled for Braces, and saying that it's typically unnecessary and even harmful.
