@@nirajray1882 obanai and muichiro had their mark, unlocked teansparent world on their own + activated red blade on their own. Plus their insane combat skills is way better. All these feat of these hashiras are already above rengoku even if he learned all the forms of flame breathing. Plus don't forget muichiro was just 14 yrs old . If muichiro had adult body ,he would surpassed most of the hashiras. So in any case rengoku would not be top 5 hashira. Accept the fact that akaza was just toying with rengoku and nothing else.

Who else agrees rengoku stole the movie and your hearts, such a lovable and respectable guy.

Rengoku is my favourite demon slayer in the entire demon slayer storyline. Small Spoilers ahead I love him even before Yorichi. Yorichi had talent which was god gifted. Rengoku believed in himself and became a hashira through self training. His father abandoned him but he did not hesitate and became a flame hashira. His mental strength is the strongest. His solar plexus was pierced, rib cage broken, shattered internal organs and half blind yet he managed to almost kill akaza to the sun. He also stopped akaza's punch in such a state. Akaza had to use his annihilation type which was his strongest type against rengoku. Rengoku knew only the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 9th forms. He did not know the rest because his father had abandoned him. Rengoku probably knew that he would die so his primary focus was to shield the 200+ people and the 3 demon slayers. Rengoku was a true warrior! Love him

Rengoku’s greatest strength was also his greatest weakness against Akaza. Rengoku has a sublime fighting spirit, a true warrior, but Akaza’s compass technique development uses that exact thing against you. That’s why Akaza has been able to kill so many Hashira. Rengoku was incredibly strong, both mentally and as a slayer. His whole life he trained to be a courageous, strong, valiant warrior to protect the weak. Since this fighting spirit is at the CORE of his character, it is unrealistic for him to suddenly realize he needs to lose his battle spirit to win - he just isn’t built like that. Akaza even marvels at Rengoku’s fighting spirit, it is clearly extraordinary. As Akaza states during the fight - Rengoku had almost reach the realm of “the highest”, he had what it takes, he was almost there, but he was stopped short. Had he had time to develop red nichirin and access see through world he would have been a major threat to all Upper Moons. Rengoku would have been able to take UM 5 like Muichiro did, because UM 5 cannot use Rengoku’s fighting spirit against him. I think a lot of people miss that Akaza’s compass ability is literally perfect for killing Hashira’s with a strong fighting spirit, which Rengoku is the shining example of. Spoilers: This is why even Tanjiro and Giyuu cannot defeat Akaza until Tanjiro realizes he MUST lose his fighting spirit to win. He realizes that Akaza uses that energy to instinctively predict and evade attacks. In summary, Rengoku’s greatest strength was his greatest weakness against Akaza

Sometimes things are meant to happen, even though Rengoku died because his fighting spirit was set ablaze it did help Tanjiro understand Akaze's ability to see the person's fighting spirit which even akaze when facing Tanjiro even stated its like he's fighting a wooden tree stump.

Akaza doesn't have the most flashy demon art especially compared to other Upper Moons. Some People tend to underestimate his Compass Needle, but IMO it's one of the most dangerous forms of demon blood art. It has a very simple yet very effective concept because as you pointed out, it uses the oponent's strenght against them. This is the reason why I personally disagree with some people claiming that Gyoumei could win against Akaza, even with a mark.

I don’t see anyone mentioning this, but the part that hit me the most emotionally was when he saw his mother and he asked her if he did her proud. And she said he did. All he wanted was approval from his parents and it brought a smile to his face. That part there was the most emotionally gripping for me

His last words says it all. He was dying and was still trying to offer comfort, help Tanjiro on his quest. He spoke of optimism, and his believe for the younger generation. Lastly he saw his Mom, who taught him from a child to protect the weak. He died smiling knowing that his mother couldn't have been more proud of him in that moment.

Rengoku is definitely the best character for me but lemme give some credit for my man Akaza. it's not just his backstory that made people love him, out of all the demons he was the only one to end the fight by taking his own life and immortality, he didnt wait to be finished off. Inside, he still had the spirit of the good person he was and wanted to be and when he saw his loved ones he realised being a demon was a taint on the honorable life these people gave him. He regenerated and was able to kill both tanjiro and giyu, but instead launched his attack on himself smiling at them and went back to his humanity and the people he loves. it's very impressionable.

Rengoku is a beautiful character. Best character in all anime by far. What a role model. His beliefs can be applied perfectly in real world and His death is more devastating than Jiraiya's by FAR. And his theme is AMAZING. Really set my heart ABLAZE!

fun fact: Rengoku only used 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 9th forms in the battle. The reason he never used the missing forms was because he didn't know how to use it. Rengoku learned the flame breathing by self-tought due to his father's frustration.

Ik demon slayer anime is just an art... but rengoku's character somehow got connected with my heart. My life is like his story. My mom passed away. My father is still sad about my mom and I have to look upto my brother and a sister.... rengoku is my inspiration

I already have the mindset of never giving up no matter how hard it gets. Which is why this character Rengoku means so much to me. Thank you Rengoku for making realize once again to never give up and honor the ones who put me in the position to succeed.

Words of truth. 2022 was very hard on me and at the end when I thought that it couldn't get any harder than that I got diagnosed with lymphoma. Inspiration Rengoku gave me carried me through the year and I only grew stronger with every challenge. When I heard the diagnose I was already at such point that it didn't even ruin my good mood. I'm going through chemo and whooping lymphomas ass exceeding all prognoses. Never felt myself stronger

This man literally managed to hold down an upper moon demon with a hole in his stomach, damaged internal organs and an injured eye. Despite all the injuries, he was so close in finishing off Akaza. Mad respects for the flame hashira here!

@@seanfleming1198 also rengoku was busy saving all those passengers so he was already tired. The demon was at full strength whereas rengoku was kinda tired already so it wasn't even fair. Also he had to make sure that the 3 would not be harmed.

Even with his destructive techniques Akaza wasn't able to break Rengoku's will, sense of duty and morals taught by his mother

Can you imagine if he had pulled through, trained them, ignited his nichirin sword to true crimson and stood with them all in the last battles?? Nobody can convince me that Rengoku isn’t one of the top 3 Hashira because ALONE he went toe to toe with one of the most powerful demons in existence and nearly took him down with him. Truly an amazing character and the writer’s ability to create such a beautiful character with such a short screen time is beautiful!

1:52 gives me chills everytime i hear this song, what a crazy transition with an organ (or whatever it is).

I love how even though Akaza is the Upper 3, the words of a low ranking demon slayer still got to him. That just means when they meet again, Akaza will make mistakes, blinded by his rage towards Tanjiro. I cannot wait for the rematch.

my mom has never watched anime before and hasnt seen the first season, but she watched the movie and absolutely fell inlove with rengoku and sobbed so hard during his death. she also really likes nezuko :))

My mom, I actually got to watch Season 1 so she was all caught up for the movie, but she and I were not prepared for Rengoku. X') At the end she called him a true hero and in her own words, "Tanjiro better avenge him, he was a good man! He was the best!"

When the hashiras was first introduced in the anime, I didn’t really mind Rengoku, but that split second when he was inside the train at the end of S1, he’s all smiling and it just gave a strong impression and from that moment I knew Rengoku will be an outstanding character.

Rengoku theme is basically perfect. It just has the feeling of rengoku being brave, strong, mighty

Someone said there is an extra panel in the manga where the crow tells the father about Rengoku’s death and the father smashes his bottle of booze and collapses, crying. I wish they had added that to the movie. He most have been filled wirh regret.

The Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. The beacon of light among the hashira. There’s a reason why his comrades respected him so much and looked up to him. He was like a big brother to all of them His kindness and love towards others was truly unmatched and in his final moments he gave it his all to protect those who couldn’t defend themselves and so the young flowers could bloom I really didn’t have the best first impression of the rest of the Hashira after Shinezigawa stabbed Nezuko but like many I fell in love with Rengoku when I watched Mugen train. It was bitter sweet seeing him in his OVA. A proper goodbye to a legend. I sometimes find myself thinking of his words whenever I feel sad or depressed. I think it’s safe to say that We should all aspire to achieve his level of kindness and determination and love for others. Thank you big bro Rengoku. We miss you
