Demolition of old LaPlante garage

It was finally time for this old garage to come down. It took months to build, stood over 65 years. and was all torn down in a few hours. Amazing!

Who worries about stopping for a phone call when the guy bought the whole structure down in less than a quarter hour. I've seen guys that would have dragged this demo out for all day WITH a knuckle on. As to the "footprint" It's gotta be easier for them to sort out the wood, metal, wires, salvage etc. Spread out a little , rather than all in a 20 foot square lump.

The building has zero use and zero charm. Glad to see the owners took the initiative to remove it --- there are millions of derelict buildings across the country that should be demolished but instead simply blight the landscape.

I'd like to install one of those back-up horns in the house and car of the OSHA man or woman who decided they were a good idea. I'd turn it on and let it honk all day on weekends and every hour the OSHA rep was home or driving. I wonder if he or she would still be so eager to have those annoying things on every vehicle if they had to hear that noise all the time. Did anyone ever tell them that noise can be a dangerous distraction to workers? Typical bureaucratic bumbling.

Well in my opinion if you can't see a big yellow thing and/or hear its labouring diesel engine you should be nowhere near a demolition or construction site.

The thing with these is when you work around them all the time you get so accustomed to hearing it that you don't even hear or pay attention to it anymore... Kinda defeats the purpose!

if this operator was any good he would of kept the rubble with-in the footprint of the building and not every where also at 12:57 you can see him answering his bloody phone what an idiot he has men on the ground working around him do they not matter to him or his boss.

I bet this guy IS the boss, he could have easily moved that beam with the excavator, but made his workers do it instead.
