[Demolished] Block 165 Toa Payoh - Fujitec elevator
This video is for informative purposes only and I do not own the show in which this video was recorded. All credits go to the Mediacorp show, 开心家族 (Happy Family, taken in 1990) Episode 8.
This short clip features the upgraded Fujitec elevator at Block 165 Lorong 2 Toa Payoh, which was demolished in the mid-2000s.
The original elevator was a GEC Express, similar to most other Toa Payoh residential HDB blocks which had their Express elevators upgraded by Fujitec in the late-1980s.
A picture of the block before it was demolished:

Like how at the start when filming they were pretending as though the doors of the lift weren’t opened yet at all and they were waiting for it to arrive, when they were in fact opened the whole time
Is blk 165 already replaced or what?

demolished
Definitely not demolished in the early 2000s btw. Probably mid 2000s. Sources online say that the replacement flat was completed in 2005 so the blocks here probably got demolished in 2005-6

Selective En-bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS). Plan for building new developments like HDB flats and future high-rise condominiums and demolishing the old ones away. Now it is Toa Payoh Crest HDB flats.
Looks like lift A was built to a later specification than lift B...

@@tswubone of them (blk 147) was actually the first 40-storey hdb block to be built!
Yeah looks like another ordinary late 80's/early 90's Fujitec. This kind is dying right now as the only 1 doors similar to this are in Pasir Ris
