What is it classed as? It is analogue+digital+digital two. The piano sounds better than any dedicated digi piano. Its crazy.

Hopefully the AN1x helps the crippled synth sounds from the motif line where they constantly lagged the Fantom. This looks like a decent board albeit an eye opening price.

It has sequencer unlike previous Montage....and everything from all Motif series... plus many advanced features... improved AMW 2 sample based sounds... improved An-x sound engine and etc... Montage M series are highly capable Synth+ workstation... but the price... 😕😕

The montage M is way more of a beast than the K2700 but the K2700 definitely has some nice features...Better ribbon strip for a start.....Cant get past that 400 note polyphony on the montage though that is messing with my brain lol

Except the ergonomic and the options / buttons, I do not notice « a big difference » between the 1st gen montage sounds and this one…

Well its the fact. Supported by their upcoming VST. But after all, buying omnisphere, a decent laptop, a good soundcard, and a good MIDI controller, costs about the same. Plus, you can lend the synth to your friend or your wife (in case you have one and she happens to be keyboardist too). Spectrasonics (makers of omnisphere) didnt allow you to lend your laptop. They do allow you to inherit your dead father's omnisphere license, though. Yeah thats some crazy edge case situation. But that's the fact. Sure you can cheat here and there, buy cheap soundcard, or using internal laptop one, buy cheap used macbooks or struggle with windows and ASIO, fiddle here and there for official ASIO driver for realtek soundcard that apparently exists, but only made for dell laptops and actually only for windows vista, fiddle again to make it run on your laptop, deciding that its stable enough, then pirate every vst ever known to a man ... I've been there. And its fun at beginning. Ended up annoyed. Then uninstalled everything, and bring my psr s950 everywhere. Buying digital keyboard is not only about buying the hardware. The hardware itself is cheap. Really, if you count the hardware in newest KORG Nautilus, its only intel atom. Not even $500 windows laptop using intel atom. And how much is nautilus? $2K? And they run linux. Linux is free. Free to download, use, and modify (i can rant about korg violating GPL license but its story for another day). Buying a digital keyboard is much more than that. Its about buying the peace of mind. Yes at the end of the day, its cheap PC and free software inside. But unlike most linux computer, when your keyboard breaks you can blame yamaha, and have them fix it (most of the time). In linux world, build it yourself, fix it yourself. Unless you are in corporate support like Red Hat, or in this case, the linux is inside your montage or nautilus. You don't blame Linus Torvalds, you blame Yamaha. Sure it is fun, but ... You got my point.
