budding animation student here -- curious how you did the wipe on the textures? did you pull it into AE or did you do it right in the rendering?

Yeah, it will be. You can render out different passes on 3D software. Then you can add effects in AE. I can help you if you're using Maya!

@@pratikdudhane No probem :) To be a 3D generalist is to be able to do Modeling / Texturing / Lighting and Rendering (In my education) These are different "skill" of competence in 3D. I hope my answer helped you !

How do you render a model without background?

Render in Marmoset a video in "png", Import in after effects as a file and click "PNG Sequence" and u will have a render without background. Remember when you render activate "Transparency"
