    I’m wanted the textured titanium but settled for the knife center carbon fiber clip point. It’s very smooth with a slight grippiness to them but very easy on my pocket. I’m very happy with the 20.5.

    I have the sharksfoot with the textured Ti scales like the one in this video. I am at the beginning end of the knife collecting spectrum, so a $400 knife seems like a lot of money for me to carry in my pocket in knife form. However the irony is not lost on me as I wear a $4,000 watch (tudor BB58) quite often.

    AD20.5 is what I refer people to when they are looking for a more hardcore Manix 2. Still prefer the full on AD20 though because I like hard users. Sharks foot is great for long, straight cuts. Things like cutting boxes are where this and wharncliffe/sheepsfoot blades in general will excel. It lacks a forward tip though and has no belly for downward cuts on surfaces so it isn't the most versatile. Probably my second favorite AD20 blade. You actually have to aim a little when your blade has belly but blades with both straight blade and belly are the most versatile.

    I have the 1st version AUS10A grivory "sharksfoot" and the latest version 3V Ti with texture. I do think they are overpriced but great knives. I've ordered smooth Ti scales for the "sharksfoot" model as the textured Ti model is a pocket shredder. However, I think the textured Ti model is the best looking and they are both great EDC blades.

    Thanks for the video...you get my like. I have all of the Knifecenter 3V iterations of the 20.5 (except for the timascus)...just ordered the new carbon fiber. Between the smooth and textured ti, I can’t decide. The smooth is more prone to snail trails, but other than that, they’re both just awesome knives. I tend toward the clip points, but I do like the sharks foot on this model as well. I’ve never been one to buy up every version of a knife before, but I think that these higher end 20.5s are about as good as it gets in terms of fidget factor, looks, and knife performance. It’s the perfect knife for me. I even love the DLC in Grivory, and I’m not a fan of coated blades. Anyway, I think I’m addicted to these, and I’ll probably have a hard time kicking this monkey off of my back. If anyone is contemplating buying one, I really do think that you’ll be happy with any of the options. I’m somewhat of a knife snob, but I don’t care at all if these are Taiwanese versions of a custom knife. If you want to experience it at its best, the ti models are significantly better, but the Grivory models are excellent, and I’d generally rather carry even one of those over my Sebenzas...blasphemy I know, but it’s true for me.

    I got the CF, and it’s just excellent in every way. It’s probably the one that I’d recommend of all of them, including the titanium variants. It’s a prefect knife imo. I also got the timascus, and it’s as nice as I’d hoped it would be. Still, this is way to expensive for anyone that isn’t obsessed with these knives. I just knew that if I didn’t get one, I’d be kicking myself for years.

    I had a grivory AUS10 when they first released. Centering was slightly off and it felt good, but not fantastic. Action was just not quite premium. Do you think the CF with 3V feels upgraded all around with fit and finish, or just in materials? Thanks!

  • @xoxxox5352

    @xoxxox5352

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s hard to say. The titanium, timascus, and cf 3V models definitely all feel better that the 3V Grivory, but the fit and finish of the blades and hardware is all the same from what I can tell. That said, I have 11 examples of this model now, and I’ve yet to receive one where the centering isn’t perfect. The blade stonewash, edge grind, and all the hardware seems to be the same on all my 3V models, regardless of the scale material. I do have one Aus10a/Grivory (serrated) example, and it seems to have the same fit and finish on the blade as the 3v examples. In terms of action, I have had 1 or two that were just a hair less smooth that the rest, but they broke in very quickly. I find that the action is very consistent with these in general. But, I bought some Skiff bearings and put them on a titanium 3v, and that made it noticeably more glassy and drop-shutty. It takes almost nothing to open and close it now with the shark flipper.

    Picked up a Jade G-10 DLC clip point Aus10a version at Blade Atlanta. The centering is a little off but it’s a great workhorse knife and is super smooth. I really want the sharks foot smooth Ti version. The fact it’s made in Taiwan doesn’t bother me. I’ve got some Taiwanese made Spyderco’s and the build quality is beautiful. I definitely think Demko is cashing in on the Shark Lock hype and at $315 it’s a little overpriced, but I’ll probably still get one anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I think the Koenig Arius is overpriced also, but I still snagged one. I’ve underpaid for some of my knives and I’ve overpaid. Sometimes you just gotta spend more to get the exact knife you want. In the end it kinda all washes out even.

    The Titanium and big pivot 20.5s are a huge upgrade from the original 20.5s. Had a grivory aus10 20.5 and it was crap. Even with better aftermarket scales the pivot show side has just a button head screw and I couldn't stop being bothered by that. Love my smooth TI 20.5. When I got a textured TI 20.5 in, I was disappointed. I think most probably wanted a texture and finish to match an AD20 TI texture and this isn't it. They also milled the same scales as the smooth so the pivots now stick up slightly. Ordered a carbon fiber big pivot and will see how that is when it comes in.
