I’m not a celebrity but I did grow up in the hood and I made it out...became a doctor...and have a good life. When I first got the degree and would go back home, dudes from high school that couldn’t stand me (it was mutual) would try to talk to me like we were best friends. Like 🤨 bruh, I low key hated you. It's really why it's worrying that kids around this age are getting less legal punishment, instead people rely on parents to punish them which you simply can't do for people who have as much damage potential as they do. So instead of treating punching and kicking as "bullying" you treat it as assault, because it's a crime.

Demi isn’t acting like she’s innocent in this she literally said the opposite. Doesn’t change that the bullying affects her, too. "But did the taliban bully him before killing all his teammates?" is the important question. Seriously how can joe go from a hero like marcus on to basically a villain from "mean girls" in the same week? Before I bailed on spotify to come read some comments she even says "I would probably have developed a eating disorder anyway cus my mom had one". And also says " I was a c*nt as a teenager" she bullied a girl, got it right back at her and used it to score victim points and explain away poor choices and bad behavior. In recovery one of the first things people learn is to take responsibility for their actions. It doesn't seem like she's interested in doing that.

Idk how I feel about this… I understand that Demi was super young and traumatized by this bullying experience. But with that being said, the girl who did it was only like 11/12 years old too & wasn’t nearly mature enough to understand the weight of her actions. I know Demi keeps saying she doesn’t blame this girl for her eating disorder and hardships, but the bitterness in her tone about the whole phone call is telling me otherwise. I’ve been bullied too growing up & I understand the long lasting effects of it, but I don’t have any hatred towards the kids who did it because we were all different people back then. It seems bizarre to me that Demi is still so angry at this girl over a decade later & is basically implying that this one little girl “ruined her life”…

I think you could have a bit more empathy for the emotional scars that bullying leaves on people. Demi was 11/12 years old herself. You don't just get over a bunch of people signing a petition for you to kill yourself, especially at a time when you are already vulnerable and your brain is still forming.. She already said she doesn't blame the girl for her eating disorder. But she is allowed to have her feelings about it. I think saying this event ruined her life is valid.

Middle school and highschool are such a brutal times. I truly saw colors of humanity I didn't know existed till then, cause I was home schooled from moving around a lot throughout my childhood. I STILL at 27 now remember the girls and boys who bullied, and took advantage of me almost everyday. Which escalated to bullying and threatening my friends. Vandalizing my home, breaking in, cops getting involved, house arrest, etc. It got bad. I still remember that sh*t. It still makes me angry that I tried to take the high road so many times when I should have just thrown down with them and got it over with. But in the end, their personal choices resulted in most of my major bullies being dead now from accidents regarding partying too hard and making pretty poor choices. So I don't think anything I would or could have done back then would have changed them. But I still have to learn to live with the crap they did to me and my friends.

It’s literally a circle of bullying in school. I got bullied and I did some bullying back. I didn’t know what to do, no one taught me how to react. I didn’t bully someone else in return, I waited and after high school going out to the bars I saw my bully(ie’s)and guess what? 4 years of lifting weights daily and puberty turned me into the bully to them. Do I regret it? HELL NO! That was some of the best times in my life! They got me first but patience and dedication gave me a feeling I could never get from anything else. Was I as cruel to them? Nah, cuz all it took was them running into me a few times and them acting like we were actually good friends back in junior high. Once they acted like little kiss asses around me I never felt like a victim again. The big fish of the pond pulled me in with no question. They didn’t have the time to focus on me back then. They just saw how everyone else treated me and figured I was an equal. Gotta say it was a horrible time for a few years but then it was the best time of my life. The only thing that was different between the old me and the new me minus a large amount of size was confidence. I never looked at people the same. If getting bullied by a few guys in school taught me this lesson then thank god I did something about it and got to be embarrassed back then. People will treat you how you let them treat you. The body only let me fake it til I saw the lesson. I hope to pass this on to my son because no one showed me. Life was insanely awesome once high school ended and I learned that lesson. If you don’t treat yourself like the top dog no one else will. On the plus side I never really had to show that new side. People recognized it and it made life incredible. Respect yourself unlike no one else, eventually you’ll see how easy it really is. Hope my experience helps someone. Wish someone taught me back then.

She'll relapse repeatedly until she learns how to actually take ownership and look forward without expecting validation from others. i get how demi feels and what demi means about still feeling upset even after having a one on one talk with the person that bullied you in the past. Some of them talk to you in the present as if they are not really acknowledging what they did to you that could have left a long lasting emotional scar on someone for life. I also agree with words leaving a much more lasting impression to a person and how they feel about themselves later on than being involved in a physical fight with someone.

So, she writes a note calling other people annoying and bitches and then people retaliated, but she’s the victim? Why? Because she, a TV star and pop star, wasn’t “popular” at her school in Texas?

She has some new documentary out about her numerous stints in rehab so she is brave and inspirational or something. Massive advertising campaign behind it so she is doing the rounds plugging it to make the big bucks I guess, count yourself lucky I keep getting ads for fucking Gaia TV or some bullshit .

She's definitely milking it and playing the victim for sympathy and attention. All the thumbs down are probably from people have been through similar stuff and worse but we have moved on with our lives.
