@Nero Metal I mean, imagine it, the party with Cante, Raidou and Demifiend. I am sure Raidou and Dante would get along real good. Personally I always wanted to see Constantine from DC starring in a SMT, I tought on adding him too. I got a solid party already.

My favorite death was when I did this fight, and that Mamudoon hit ALL three of my guys despite them all having Resist Death.

Resistance is actually fine in fact it is recommended you go in with phys and death resist it's null drain or reflect elements that cause Gaia Rage spam

To this boss this is just a random battle but the moment he analyzes you and sees you resist he just ends the battle so he can move on

Your party was just a random encounter for him.

So I never fought Demi-Fiend in DDS, but it looks like Gaea Rage is his version of the Elizabeth Megidolaon. Gotta love Atlus super-bosses...

Heres the thing: Liz is predictable, and as long as you know what she does she is relatively easy and you can beat her in 2-3 tries. Demifiend just throws a coin every round. Heads and he shoves your sh*t so far in it comes out the other side, tails and you die unless you are asleep and have "dodge everything while asleep".

Fun fact. In Persona 5 Royal's new block of mementos, theres a special enemy spawn consisting of a Pixie, High Pixie and Parvati, all unrecruitable, unoffically called "super shadows". The High Pixie will cast Matarukaja, the Parvati will cast Lullaby... and then the Pixie will cast Megidolaon.

Also demi fiend can go against the Axiom. Guy bested raidou who is superior to Mido who's camperable to Stephen. I'm pretty sure demi fiend can at least deal some decent damage.

Demi-Fiend takes no twizzlers

The best fight in the history of turn based RPG. The only challenging one no matter how perfectly you prepare. Different strategies available still but every one needs some luck here and there. He summons various demons with different and very interesting skills and it all plays together so nicely. The fact that you used to be him in the previous game adds a cherry on top. Forever the greatest, we bow to the demi-fiend

Honestly, I'd just quit and reload my last save (or load a save state if playing via PCSX2) the moment I know GR is coming and there's no surviving it thanks to a Dormina fail. Really, game? *Now* is not the time for Sleep to wear off before the enemy turn!

._. I tried to fight him ~20 times. I managed to get everyone to fall asleep about 3 times. When they fall asleep it's not even over cause each time I was fully debuffed and Demifiend fully buffed before my characters woke up and then they died the very round they woke up. After that I decided to screw the rng and stop trying.

Can't quite do that when you get killed before you wake up. Once or twice I woke up but because of all the enemy buffing and party de-buffing, my entire party was killed at full HP during the first enemy turn after I woke up.

If you use the red star trick, you only need to live once the gaea rage. None of my characters even got put to sleep when i won; heat close call got me through it.

For a second, instead of reading 'revert' i saw 'pervert'.

But why though? How can you kill most of the demons and only then trigger Gaea Rage? He will do it if you have null, repel and e.t.c. but it's like death at first or second turn either way.

So, you didn't equip your backups with Last Chance? Or did you already expend them? xD

1. None of them were amped tf? They were tired so they recovered their "lost power" 2. This isn't the actual demi fiend. Just his solar data. Less than a fraction of the actual demi fiend's power. 3. Noucturn demi fiend is different and much more powerful than his messiah counter part. A- he's a full demon. Messiah demi fiend Isn't B- he beat raidou who's superior to Mido who's on par with Stephen. That's how much power difference there is between the noucturn demi fiend, messiah demi fiend and solar data demi fiend.

He will *always* use Gaea Rage on his next turn after summoning one of the female demons, or on the turn they’re killed. You either get put to sleep by the Dormina or die that turn.

Yeah, Close Call is available and it ends up saving me on my successful run. Itll bring you back to your human form and only once per battle, so it's a nice last resort.

You need the Null Sleep skill, which makes you invincible as long as you're asleep. "What if the sleep skill misses or you wake up beforehand?" then you die with nothing you can do about it~ fight sucks!

It's a reference to Nocturne where a Pixie you get early on has the ability to evolve into much stronger forms, as well as a long running joke of a pixie using super strong skills like Megidolaon

it's based on the amount of his demons you kill. He does Gaea Rage every time Pixie and Parvati come back up in rotation. They will always cast Dormina to try and put you to sleep and this allows null sleep to work. Null sleep still allows you to fall asleep, but you dodge all attacks while sleeping.

Here's what I can tell: 1) If any of your party members at any time have "immunity to any element", he will spam Gaea Rage until you die. You can satisfy this condition with passive moves or defensive spells. 2) Every time you kill one of his allies, he will cast Summon to summon a different one. The game counts how many times he has cast Summon, and if the number is even he will cast Gaea Rage once 3) I think (not confirmed) that he will cast Gaea Rage if a set number of turns has passed since the last time he cast Gaea Rage, thus forcing the player to invoke condition 2 on their own terms Things to keep in mind: A) Gaea Rage can miss (but this is super rare and not to be relied on) B) You can swap out party members at any time; the usual strategy is to load up your big three party members for actual battle, and everyone else with Close Call, swapping them in each time Condition 2 is about to happen. C) For unknown reasons, Null Sleep does not satisfy condition 1. See Zenosyke's comment for more info

He had to deal with Mot. He has every right to be this overpowered.
