Looking at that cabinet, it occurred to me that it could be built with the top of the right side at a height to provide an outfeed surface for a thickness planer or miter saw, or with some careful though, for both. Furthermore, making the open bay underneath that much taller would accommodate a dust collection shop vac that could be hooked up to either tool when it is set upright on the flip top. The dedicated vac would always be on station, ready to go, and there might be room underneath for a deep drawer. I already use the dedicated dust collecting shop vac system on the compact mobile table saw bench I designed to provide a modest outfeed surface. It works a treat. Wherever I push the mobile bench with saw, the dust collection is right there, ready to go, no trailing hoses.

I like this flip top more than the rest simply because you incorporated two stations in one. That’s more versatile than one big huge table because it can be broken down if need be. Also, some can start with just the flip table, then upgrade to this design when they feel they require more storage space. Love the idea.

Wow! This is the exact cart I need minus the air compressor area. Im fairly new to wood working projects, I can build a sturdy average work table but this is something that is intimidating specially with the price of plywood these days but I just got the Kreg 720 Pro pocket hole jig set and a new Dewalt 735x planner, a PoterCable jointer thats been in my garage for 6 years now and never used and a new spindle/belt sander so something like this would be perfect! Im sure I'll be replaying your video over and over lol

Cool build, I like it and esp the custom drawer pulls. I find it a little funny watching this as I just got done doing what you do for the customiable drawer with all the slots. I love mine so much, one thing I did that you didnt was I left some space up at the top of the drawer and did a lip all the way around. So I made trays to go on top of the dividers for very common used things. Also on the bolting your tools down, instead of a nut and bolt. Try out Tnuts and bolts. They have little spikes on them so they go right in on the underside and you just need a socket for the bolts. Just one of those the easier things come off, the more likely you are to clean/repair things

Very nice project, love the build, smooth performance, and organization and attn to detail. Those drawer pulls are so great! It's nice to have a crew to teach and keep you company, as i will be startying a 2nd generation of helpers in a few more years. How long did this project take, everyone's shop schedules vary. I applaud you for mentioning shop safety, please consider all of your eyes as they are important tools. Your helpers are short and at worksurface height - please consider protecting them! Have them learn PPE; make it cool, maybe add some custom fun shop signs/rule reminders, and have plenty of glases at the entrance to the shop. It's easier to start them out when they are young and will stick with them througout their years. The more hours spent in the shop the more chances for accedential mishaps to occur IMO. Very awesome and usefull flip tool project, I would like to tackle one day and have 1/2 as nice outcome as yours turned out , my ridgid spindle and old sears belt sander with built in saw dust collection is in my dreams. Sears use to make a 3 flip unit back in the day. Thanks again for sharing and sorry for butting in about eye protection.

Great work and I like that even an "extension" was considered - your YT colleague Wally has indeed presented the "reversible cabinet" as a solo cabinet (whose video I just watched before yours). The extension is an excellent, useful idea, increases stability. It would be nice if you could perhaps find a parts list and the dimensions of the parts! It would be easier to rebuild for a wood novice like me with very limited space. Maybe you find the time to insert that still somewhere for a download or to "copy"? I still have to get rid of this: Respect and great admiration for your / your social commitment, your great "colorful" family! I think it's great that your boys are already "taken along" and are allowed to experience and learn about craftsmanship. Wonderful! This is how appreciation for work performed is conveyed and promoted. Please stay as you are - a great creative family! God bless you! Best regards from Germany, Micha
