I'm back from my vacation! FYI I just wanted to address a common comment I kept seeing. The reason the Lightworld Battle HUD is stylized like this and not specifically a repeat of Undertale's is because Kris and Susie are PURPOSEFULLY emulating the Dark World battles in this scenario, like a simulation or something. Unless the actual game makes this design decision in the upcoming chapters, it'd be odd to execute a battle that requires TP & multiple characters on screen in the Undertale style where neither of those elements are present. However, I do try to blend the two styles with the color choices so there's at least some comprise, so I hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks again for all the attention this vid has gotten, I didn't think it'd grow this much in such a short span of time!

Imagine there’s a secret boss who’s moves NEVER end, so you have to build up enough TP to counter their attacks, allowing you to end the turn. Would make for a great secret boss.

Susie just casually opening a new path into the forest where otherwise the game would never let you back there kind of fits the theme of the idea that she seems to have enough of a rebellious will that lets her break the boundaries of gameplay mechanics

I always thought it was Susie realizing that, if Kris was that strong all this time, they could have stopped Susie's harassment of them in ch 1 a long time ago but didn't. Rather than disappointed, I think she was ashamed.

The stick is what broke and threw Suzie off balance, so it's less that Suzie was weak and more that she was caught off gaurd.

Susies personality was on point here. I especially liked the moment where she talks about Ralsei. Watching Susie and Kris hang out overall is just something I always can't get enough of. I liked the shaded area withb the rays of sunlight, the way Susie pushed apart the tree leaves and the text with the sticks. I loved every detail in this. Great work!

this feels canon it could appear in chapter 3, 4, whatever and i wouldn't be surprised, it fits in that well

really good stuff, love the idea of new combat elements being introduced and susies dialogue was on point anyway... (waits patiently for translation of the end section)

I could actually see this as a scene from the game! Nice work my man!

I really like how you represent Kris and Susie's friendship dynamic and the counter mechanic was so cool that when the next chapters of Deltarune come out I'm gonna be thinking about how cool it'd be for it to be in the game lol

Dang this is SO well made. Like this is on godly level, from the text to the sprites it all seems so official. Like you *NAILED* susie’s personality here to a t. I don’t know what else to say other then the new gameplay ideas are sick. Well earned sub from me and i can’t wait to see what other stuff you make

I love how this feels. To be honest, it feels less like a battle, and more like a tutorial for battles in the LIGHT World. Its so good. Keep it up!

this is masterful. genuinely, wow. if i saw this without knowing it was an animation i would’ve thought it was straight from the game. you even got the PUNS down. and made an interesting, accurate, cohesive tutorial for new mechanics. literally WHAT. i’m actually stunned, this is SO amazing

Gotta love how when Kris moves off of the bench it goes from sitting to standing.

genuinely amazing, you finished this pretty quickly as well and i LOVE the idea of a counter in the game and the clashing thing reminded me of sonic rush, really cool ideas here

Not only the animations are fenomenal but the dialogue is SO GOOD, it matches toby's writing so well and fits perfectly in the game. The mechanics also were very nice to the point I think they could be actual ones

Another fantastic animation by SpriterMike! It's a pretty unique take I'll say having a light world battle system and with those counter abilities. Also that ending part of the video felt like it was ripped straight out of Omori and I loved that. I can imagine Deltarune having stuff like that once it gets into its darker parts.

considering Berdly’s cyberworld design was based on Falco and him mentioning wavedashing, Susie hitting the Marth counter pose is a nice touch even if it wasn’t intentional! Toby fox was a fan of melee and one of the devs behind Project M so its a great nod to his past

Hey, I know this is fanmade, but that message at the end, that was REALLY good! I actually say that to people often, "if you don't choose things yourself, there's always gonna be someone that's gonna make a decision for you" It's something that people need to hear more ^^

I absolutley love the battle mechanics you added. The counter mechanic was really well thought out and the clash mechanic could lead to some really cool moments.

Loved this!!! The spriting was amazing, the dialogue was well written, and it felt just like a scene from the game!!

The spritework is amazing, the new machincs are clever, the dialogue is on point, the editing is neat… I can only say congratulations for this amazing love letter to Deltarune!

The tileset and background for that little place looks so comfy and beautiful.

Okay this is really awesome, because it introduced new game mechanics through whimsy dialogue and i could totally see DR do smth skmmilar to exactly this Also the creepyness of kris overpowering susie in the clash is interesting While snowgrave doesnt rly make kris stronger (aspecially not light world kris) i imagine if that scene played out after doing some other chapter's equivalent to the weird route... that would make me scared. And like... just beating susie as kris IS a regular thing, but the framing here made it looklikea big deal so yeah, great work

Once again you've done an astounding job at the execution of this animation. The detail of Susie not being used to fighting in the Light World as she is more accustomed to doing so in the Dark World has got to be my most favourite aspect of this because it goes so well with her personality. I gotta say, the idea of a counter and a clashing mechanic really intrigued me. I would seriously love to see them both get added to the actual game. I believe they would bring some great diversity to the battle system. And one last thing I want to say, I see this animation as an amazing way to represent the characters' growth and development which makes it all the more awesome. It may not be official, but it's still very fitting with them.
