all of this is Kitazaki's fault for giving the gear to Sawada because Sawada still has faith in Mari and Ryusei Juku's friends so he prefers to give the gear to Kusaka

But that's the point of Delta's story. Delta Gear is the perfect belt among the three, and it can also be used by humans. However, people with lack of willpower will get side effect from Delta Gear. They will be consumed by power and become deranged. They will lose themselves. However, humans who have strong will won't be affected. Rina and Mihara are the only humans in the series who didn't get consumed by Delta's side effect, because the two of them have pure heart. Especially Mihara. He may be physically weak and inexperienced in the series, but he is strong in the inside. Mihara is actually a good character, a reluctant hero who only wanted to live a normal life but unwillingly dragged to the human-Orphnoch war. Mihara was meant to be Delta for his character development. It's so shame that his character wasn't explored enough. (By the way, Kusaka Masato doesn't count, because he has Orphnoch DNA. Thus he didn't get the side effect)

I personally love Takumi as delta.I wish we had a arc where Takumi uses the delta gear and how it lets him grow as a person.It's kind of a shame they didn't do more with it.
