That makes much more sense. But Delta’s 2x2x2 is not as spacious. They have definitely made the configuration much cozier. Latam has lots of legroom in their 787 forward-facing configurations.

Great Review! I am headed from ATL to Athens, GR in August. Last trip I took I was on the Delta ONE SUITE last year which of course if much more private and a ton of storage. I just booked last week and found out this is the configuration they are using now on this route. I was actually pleased as I have flown this config on Turkish Airlines and as a solo traveler as long as I get an middle row so I dont have to step over someone Im a happy camper. NO cramped footwell and the seat is wider for a better night sleep honestly. (Albeit less surface area, privacy and storage). I pay for the lie flat for a good nights rest though. Thats my two cents, would prefer the Suite on a Day flight though. Thanks for the review!

You’re welcome! And yes! You should definitely 💯 use the LATAM lounge! It’s probably the best lounge in South America that we have visited!

Unfortunately they're not using the reconfigured ex LATAM A350s on most of the South American routes. I fly to Lima regularly out of Atlanta and luckily now LATAM is also operating flights so I prefer jumping on there older 767 but are 1'2-1 configuration

Yes, which is okay if Delta advertises and sells the older configuration. But I have a problem with false advertising to sell, then change the plane without notice.

Thanks for the video. Debating if my wife and I should fly the Delta airbus 350 or regular delta one 767-400 “pod style” on a 9 hour flight. Thoughts?

Tony, I would go with the suite-style Delta One pods if you can get that layout. But, as I mentioned in our video, Delta sometimes changes planes without notice. So you might not get the product you book. But even the old A350 layout is not bad if you’re traveling with your wife. Good luck 👍

I have a question, do you know if delta passengers only have acceses to the LATAM lounge or they can go to the skyteam lounge at Santiago as well

Good question. If you have a Delta premium ticket, I’m sure you will be eligible for any Sky Team lounge as well. But if you’re flying economy, you will likely need status level for entry unless it’s a Priority Pass lounge. But if you do decide to visit the Latam lounges, you will be satisfied. They are quite good for short or long layovers. Happy travels!

Going to Chile soon! Would u recommend flying LATAM in premium economy on a Boeing 787-9 or flying Delta main cabin on an Airbus A350-900?

I would absolutely 💯 recommend LATAM premium economy over Delta main cabin. LATAM has good food and service. Plus, premium service and seats 💺 on LATAM is better than main cabin on all U.S. airlines. I even think business class for both airlines is comparable. But if you can get the Delta One suite (with partition door) on the A350-900, then you will have more privacy.

How did you go getting up during the night for a lavatory visit with that config ? It looks a bit of a mission to jump over your neighbour. Looks like I’ve got this config from Dublin to Atlanta later in the year.

It was not ideal. I was originally much more excited to have the Delta One suite. But this older configuration is much closer to your neighbors. It’s not bad if you’re traveling with a companion. But it’s certainly not ideal if you’re traveling alone beside strangers.

@@kentuckiansabroad ohhh well I’m not travelling alone but I wasn’t paying business class for my mate so I’ll be alone in the business cabin. It will be ok hopefully this is my only flight outside of emirates first soooo I can tolerate 9hrs

I originally booked a business class ticket on the Delta One A350 newer configuration, which has individual suites for every passenger. Delta changed my plane just hours before my flight and did not even notify me before boarding.

Guatemala 🇬🇹 is on our list, but it’s a visa country for Rani. So we have to do some paperwork! But we’ll get there eventually!

Yes 👍 Most small or medium bags 💼 will fit inside these ottomans. Duffel bags would be too large.

It’s definitely not ideal for a longer flight because those Delta One seats are so close to each other. Hopefully, Delta installs the Delta One suites in all planes soon.

That’s actually the Premium Select Cabin not the Delta One

Nope, this is the Delta One cabin on this particular configuration for the A350s that were purchased from Latam Airlines and have not had the new suites installed yet.
