Love this project, its exactly what I wanted to do. Other than blocking the draft, how well does it insulate against extreme temperatures? I live where it gets really hot in summer, then really cold in the winter, so just wondering if I should take some extra measures to make sure its insulated.

If it keeps out the heat, it should keep out the cold. We didn't plan to leave it in when the temps dropped. The only other thing I had to do was stop the draft from between the upper and lower window panes. fold up a towel or wedge some foam insulation between the two.

had the same problem in my tv room. ended up with a bunch of insulation stuffed around..didnt look great but was not in anyone elses line of sight.

What would you do if the plastic track was about 3" too short? I'm gonna do what you did here - just thinking, I'll use a 1x3 wood block on the back since my window is about 3" bigger than the plastic insert at it's most expanded point

I might try and fit the block of wood in the window track. Maybe a cut a 2x2 down to the same height as the plastic insert and put some foam insulation strips on the side against the plastic insert and the side against the window track.

Good stuff thanks. Delonghi had a bad design.

What is the diameter of the hose 5 or 6 inch ?

6”. I used my 6” hole saw from my cornhole boards
