    Great review. I got the U2724D model, but I'm unable to find the best settings under custom colors. DO you have an ICC profile or a link to the best settings to get the most out of the monitor? I'm using the Display P3 profile

  • @cuerex8580

    @cuerex8580

    Dude, that's like asking if a radio tuner does make your car drive faster 😂 obviously ICC profiles have no relation to make a display gooder. You have to buy a colorimeter and tune yourself in case you mean to get the most accurate picture.. ICC is color and contrast management and every monitor acts it's own way. Hence they get delivered with unique calibration display checkups in case you wondered.

    Thank you for the review! Could you advise me on which monitor to choose for graphic design (corporate identity, branding production): the hero of this review or ASUS ProArt PA278CGV? Because it is a very tight choice, Dell has an auto-brightness adjustment (most of all I won't use the auto color temperature feature), a higher contrast ratio and a more appealing (for me personally) design but needs calibration to achieve high color precision. On the other hand, Asus has Calman certification from the box and as I understand from tests a few percent more of Adobe RGB coverage. But... I can't figure out if those few percent worth all cons of ASUS.

    Sorry for the late reply. Factory calibration for color critical work is a good starting point, but can vary with ambient conditions, so it is definitely a good idea to get even a cheap calibrator and recheck every few weeks. Therefore, Dell + calibration device would be a much better option than relying on Calman certification.

    It's as good as it gets on a 27" QHD panel. Unless you're super picky or used to 4k, it should be satisfactory. As for the model without additional features, it should be the same in terms of panel, though we did not test it.

    entirely depends. i am downgrading from a 27 inch 4k to this one and do quite a lot of web dev. scaling is an important factor to consider and 1440p at 100% beats 4k at 150% in most use cases. 5k at reasonable prices to run at even 200% scaling for the real estate of 1440p is still a few years away and would be the best of both worlds but for now you have to go 42 inch to run 4k at 100% (tried it) which is way too big and strains your eyes a lot. higher resolution does not equal a better display.

  • @drdreel5559

    @drdreel5559

    Really depends. In photography, for instance, high quality screens at both high and low resolutions are useful depending on what, exactly, you're doing. For precision retouching a 4K screen that fits on your desk is actually the opposite of helpful. The pixels are too small. It might help to have a second screen that's higher resolution. Also, in the pro photography world, even a QHD 27 inch screen can set you back 2K for the best colour reproduction models (see EIZO monitors).
