Thank you! From 82º celsius to 58º celsius(with cooler master x1 extreme fusion thermal compound), yes, 4 years without cleaning the heat sink can do that.

I just did it today on mine in order to change termal paste on cpu ang gpu. It super easy =). Laptop working now like new haha

OKAY! Finally I fixed up everything and followed everything that has been said on the video, so far everything is good and my laptop still works after that scary "geek-surgery" :) BUT I've got two problems. 1st - The Bluetooth looks like it's still working because I'm using my mouse via Bluetooth and also the WIFI works; I do remember that I plugged back the two little black & white wires on the top right corner. Yet my JBL wireless speaker cannot be found found by my laptop, I just can't connect it anymore; in addition, I can't find the Bluetooth category any more in the "PC and Devices" section. (The speakers are working fine w/ my phone) 2nd - My laptop camera apparently is disconnected and is not recognized anywhere in my computer settings. I must admit that I did open the screen as well and gave it a deep and nice clean but I didn't unplug anything. What should I check/connect/plug back inside my laptop to solve this problem? Is it something that you showed and I didn't plug back or I messed up w/ the camera when I opened the screen? I have Windows 8.1 for the record. More then grateful for your kind help :)

+Аркадий Краснопевцев - At 04:22 you put back the black strip. What kind of strip is that and can I put everything back w/o that strip? - _I removed this tape from the cooling system. You have to use it again, it's hold the fan to the radiator and obturate the place between them, otherwise part of the air flow will go from there rather than through the radiator. It's not fatal but is not good. You can use an insulating tape._

Ichigo Kurosaki - I can't remove the cable that the keyboard is connected ,you used that little blue tool but I don't know what it is - I use plastic opening tool for smartphones. You can use something else plastic with a sharp tip. You can use also a metal tool like a screwdriver (slotted or flat-blade) but be careful, don't break the connector.

According the specification you can upgrade to max 8GB. Some people claim they upgraded to 16GB. About the CPU you can (you cave to select a proper CPU according to the socked and TDP). The main board is designed for i3, i5, i7.

After I replaced my hard drive, the laptop stopped charging the battery. Any idea what would cause this? Windows says the battery is charging but it never makes it past 0%. I've tried different chargers but not a new battery. Since this issue came up immediately after I replaced the drive, I assume it has something to do with what happened on the inside. I've gone over every. single. component. time and time again. For the life of me, I can't figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! What tools do I need to open it up? I'm looking for a tool set that will do the whole job. Also, I spilled water on my keyboard and it seems to have clogged one of the keys, which makes my laptop beep on startup, anyway to fix this?

Silver - screwdriver phillips #0 or #01 - one or two plastic opening tools (soft plastic opening tool or plastic pick or spudger) - tweezers (not necessarily) - soft brush, isopropyl alcohol, lint-free cloth (for cleaning the cooling system) - thermal compound About the KB - it's capsulated, you can't disassemble it. You can try to clean it from outside with an isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush.

Silver Yes, you can use an isopropyl for the mobo. After the cleaning wait 10-15 sec. Search for Philips screwdriver size #0 or #01 (Phillips #0). About the keyboard - it's easy to replace it. You can find it in eBay.

+firdous qaem Check the BIOS for options to control the dedicated video memory. Also check the options in the NVidia control panel. Depending on the model and specific build configuration it may not be possible to change the amount of the shared memory.

This is thermal compound (grease / paste). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_grease When you disassemble the cooling system, you must to clean the old compose and put a new .

Divesh Rc It's not good to use it without thermal compose. It's dangerous. You can overheat the processor!!! Without thermal compose there is not good contact between the processor and the cooling system. Don't use the laptop until you put new thermal compose!!!
