Hey man I have a Dell with SN CPVG0P2. The front of the screen is cracked and i can't find a replacement assembly (V30K7). Do you know where I can find one? I thought about buying DGDG5 14inch FHD but I don't think that it has the same glass front screen that my current laptop has :(... Please help...

can i somehow order only the bezel of this touchscreen as my touchscreen is working pretty fine but the rubber around the touchscreen is peeling off in bits and pieces. FYI i have inspiron 5547 with touchscreen size 15.6 inches

Good video! Is it necessary to remove the battery before plug the new screen? Some people say that if you don't remove the batt, it could cause a short circuit in the connector when plugging and damage other components.

Only morons would leave the battery connected while replacing the screen.

ALWAYS remove the battery when working on your devices, whatever it may be. Even a small static charge can damage some systems when working with electronics.

If you remove the front plastic bezel first, can't you just remove the screen from the front in 1/3 the time? I think you can. Did you follow Dell's documented procedure or did you just guess at something?

Hello I saw that when you forced the knife on the cover there were some marks on the aluminum because it is metal. Have any other way to remove the tempa without damaging the metal edges? Perhaps a plastic knife in the metal of the place?

No technician in his or her right mind would use a steel hobby knife to separate the back cover from the plastic bezel. This guy is self-taught and trying to "help" on KZread by showing you what happened to work for him -- but it's completely wrong if you are trained professionally.

+Carie B I would assume so, I have a 15-5547 also and would like to know if I can replace the non-touch WXGA screen with a touch 1080p version. I am only bothered about the resolution, not the touch feature.

I was told by the person who installed my screen that you can't change from a non touch screen to a touch screen.

Carie B and RetroRepair, I just replaced the LCD on an Inspiron 15 5000 (non-touch). The process is similar but easier and with a few adjustments: You can actually start the entire process with the "prying open the cover" step immediately (nothing else to remove before this). Note: I was not able to completely remove the front cover. It comes open all the way down on the sides but doesn't snap off (at least I couldn't do it). However, one can easily (and gently!) bend it down to get to the two bottom screws holding the LCD. Also had to use PS20 bit for the screws. The only minor tricky part was getting the screen connector cable back in - it's tiny and there's a lot of sticky tape around it. The entire process took me 15 min.
