Delivering Vodka In The Chernobyl Zone 🇧🇾

LATEST MERCH: teespring.com/en-GB/stores/ba...
🇧🇾 Three days ago I travelled to Belarus to drive back into the radiation zone there and deliver supplies to some of the last remainers on that contaminated piece of land. I also bumped into an old friend you may recognise...

When you look at this from Kolyas point of view - imagine living a life alone in the woods and suddenly a random Englishman starts showing up bearing vodka and all sorts of stuff and giving you company. Life is so random sometimes and I love it.

Without it, it merely sounds repetetive, which bears the characteristics of poor writing. And Bald never struck me as being particulary inarticulate.

It does not matter if Kolya will buy vodka cause you won't either expect him to start a business or something fancy. He has gone and is going through hard times so that's when you can drink vodka. He has no one left of his family and he might have no one to bury him in the furute.. The most important thing is when you can make someone HAPPY and if Koyla will be happy to drink a vodka and forget about all the horrible things then we're happy with him. Ofcourse he will buy food too but don' expect an elder man and ESPECIALLY in RUSSIA and extra especially in that zone to not drink alcohol! Also the comment stating that KOLYA would spend the money easily is a very dumb comment. Because spending is always easier then earning.

good insight. I could be wrong, but I believe that in Anglo countries, the ritual of gift giving involves a small ritual of refusing the gift, and the "reluctantly" accepting it once the giver insists you take it. In other cultures, or especially with the people who actually really desperately need the gift, they dont partake in the refusal ritual and instead jsut accept the gift with profuse thanks.
