I just got through DTS, but I had no idea what happened to me until I found this video. I was doing research to figure out what the hell just happened. Now, thanks to you I know it was Delirium Tremens. I just decided to stop drinking; and thought it was gonna suck sweating and shaking etc. Then confusion and hallucinations came on gradually, but before I knew it I was in full blown DTS. My experience was almost identical to yours; we even saw some of the same demons, shadow people etc. We are truly lucky to be alive.Thank you for posting your experience to educate people and possibly save lives.

Thank you for sharing. An engaging raconteur you are! I tend to believe that the Minister was on to something. A medical response is necessary but the underlying cause is spiritual - alcohol/drugs rendering the veil that protects us from negative energies (ghosts/spirits...). We should not divorce the two: physical/spiritual.

Ive heard people telling stories about seeing very dark demons with yellow eyes. I like to listen to your stories while im working, even if remembering that feeling makes me sick 😃 ive only hallucinated once, i just saw some red numbers or symbols spinning in my eyes. But i never had a really horrible dt's. By the way, have you ever considered to try to recreate your hallucinations by photoshop or just drawing? Id love to see ^^

Does this mean hell is real? I mean why do so many of us experience this when we are so close to death through alcohol withdrawal... I've seen things I never thought I'd see, or things I didn't think my brain was capable of creating. There has to be some explanation more than that are brains are shutting down... they are but why do we see all of the explicit and craziness while we are in this state? I'm so intrigued.... thank you for making these videos ❤

I am not a young man, and I never enjoyed drinking. Although I had a number of other chemical dependencies, treatments, meetings...etc, I almost never imbibed in alcohol. It just didn't work for me. About 4 months ago, in a moment of weakness and thoughtlessness, I took a 2-3 year old bottle of vodka, which I kept for company, out of the freezer and decided to have a few shots. Within days, I was drinking a 1 liter a day. Morning , noon, and night. Today, after going cold turkey at home, I have been dry for 5 days, and the hallucinations are finally subsiding. The last 5 days have been a nightmare, literally. I am facing monumental personal challenges as a result of the last 4 months, and have no solid plan regarding how to address them. I only hope that I don't pick something up, again, or I will be done. As I have no other support, thank you for your videos.

So sorry for the late reply. Your response just reiterated how fucked this disease really is(!). It only takes that ONE drink, and within days we are right back to morning, noon & night. Even KNOWING we will be risking death doing so, we can still justify that first drink. Wild...but I GET IT!!! Cunning, baffling & POWERFUL. So glad you were able to pull out of it! Yet another 'win' for Sobriety🙏👍✅ Thank you, and please share our Channel. It has already saved lives. Dirk:)💯💯💯

I cant imagine seeing hallucinations like that or your daughter story. I recently had to deal with them for the first time. I kept seeing my dog behind me in the reflection of my phone but he wasn't there (at my moms). Then I actually saw my bed sheets moving around as if he was in them, but when I touched the sheets there was nothing. Also various things crawling on the ceiling. Gave me massive chills and scared me off alcohol like you. I was actually watching your videos right before I experienced that.

I think its amazing Dirk…AKA Mr. Gratitude, AKA Mr. Sobriety, AKA Mr. AA….is able to drink NEAR-BEER in front of his sponsees. It really shows how he is working a really solid program and that they shouldnt have any issue doing the same thing. Its an excellent example of the type of role model he is to newcomers. The way Dirk lives his life is EXACTLY the was he describes it online (extreme sarcasm)….just full of recovery, gratitude, and humility….Rumor has it Dirks disease does not do pushups in the parking lot but his humility does. Honestly I do not even think the word EGO is in Dirks vocabulary. Just an overload of humbleness. I am going to be reaching out to the leadership of SLA of what is going on with Dirk and his involvement with the program. Will be getting in contact with local leaders up to the CEO….

This man routinely post on social media his sponsees first name and last initials along with a picture of the sponsee and him after they finish doing step work including step 5. I have seen him go as far as having the sponsee hold up their fifth step for the camera.... The individuals he does is to are usually very new to the program and in a sober living program themselves. They flat out do not understand the danger of posting a picture of themselves promoting their step work on social media in a public setting. The repercussions that can come from that can be lifelong and devastating. nobody with any time in the program and understands how it works will let him do this. he had actually been banned from several meetings for the danger he poses to AA and newcomers.

@@clayton4976 "The repercussions that can come from that can be lifelong and devastating". Did you know the abuse of alcohol can be lifelong, devastating and FATAL. Nobody is going to die from posting their progress in the program on any social media platform. If anything, we need to be more active in getting the message to other addicts, which is exactly what Dirk is doing! His videos are a grim reminder to myself and anyone else who has reached the absolute rock bottom from drinking. I understand where you are coming from about the issue of anonymity, but if that individual agrees then why not? I'm fairly new to sobriety myself, and I can appreciate videos like this. We're all in the same boat as far as alcoholism is concerned, so why not support each other in our endeavors to fight this addiction? When I ran out of my apartment, I walked a few miles (naked...how I didn't get arrested??) But, I heard the 'Wolf' as it was stalking me the whole walk to where the 'Military People' were. It was always about 30 to 50 feet out, and it was VICIOUS‼️‼️ But, he/it never came directly at me. I remember the terror of just making being 'stalked', and I'd catch glimpses of it but never in full view. But whatever it was, I KNEW it was fucking BAD. Off the record, would you think that it could have been because I was on benzos (and still am) when I quit? I'm one of the people that can still drink recreationally, but I quit going to the bar every night in 2016. I might have a few beers a few times a year and that's all. That being said, I still take valium to this day (as prescribed.) Xanax was a whole different story. That stuff combined with drinking led to countless blackouts. Well this is the first video I have seen of yours. Keep doing what works for you and I wish you all the best!👍

I was staying in a hotel alone in another city on a trip going to visit my long distance gf who was paralyzed and i was going through DTs and heard voices of people in other hotel rooms screaming my name and calling me a fucking asshole over and over and was fully convinced people were after me saying things through the walls like they were gping to skin me alive and shoot me in the spine and paralyze me too and heard loud rap music from a truck right outside my hotel room and the lyrics were all about killing me and how all these guys were fucking my paralyzed girlfriend and taking turns wirh her. I thought the entire city was after me and trying to kill me. I ended up going outside the hotel room and trying to confront these random people that didnt exist and trying to open up other car doors and other hotel room doors. I ended up calling 911 on myself that night and ended up in a psych ward for a week detoxing. Truly demonic evil stuff and its trauamtizing how real it all seemed at the time. I was probably going through some other ptsd at the time but it was definitely DTs amd malnutrition from only about a few months bender. Do not underestimate alcohol! This was a big find for me this video looked up the condition after going threw it 2 wks ago it was nothing u want to go threw ever again u will fear nothing after going threw delirium tremens there seems to be a pattern to everyone’s experience of someone you love the demon hat person (mines had a skip hat a brown leather pilot jacket lined with sheep skin and sunglasses but had a smile from ear to ear with pointed scary teeth ) another c’mon theme seems to be a big event like your boating accident (mines was a march coming to get me a could hear the whole neighbourhood gathering together they even marched 4 blocks to gather a crowd and there where 2 guys out back 2 out front watching so a didn’t leave ) I looked out window there was a network of people surrounding my property every time a looked out window a could hear them communicating (saying is he still in the house the guy across the street would reply yes !

I quit drinking and I've experienced the spiders crawling and a snake slithering in my bed. I've gotten a dui which has caused me to quit drinking

Can you describe the process of learning that you were hallucinating and all that stuff wasn't real?

Yes. I did NOT know any of it was not real until day 5+ when I got back from jail & the mission. Up until then, I thought my daughter was dead. People were after me, etc. But, that was my first (WORST!!!) experience with Real Delirium Tremens. The 4 times after that, I sort of knew...but didn't. Its just SO FUCKING REAL!!! The whole process is pretty amazing... & TERRIFYING... Thanks so much, and I'm really glad you're here with us:)... Dirk:)👍👍👍

I only realised when I asked people I know in reality who where in the delusions after I'd stopped dt'ing and got told none of it happend when id got out of the hospital. Weird considering most of the delusions were so surreal that they would of been impossible but still believed most of them had happend.

Well - what a beautiful, crisp, sunny day we had and a amazing day to have my cup overflowing with NEAR-BEER….I mean gratitude.

Yellow. Orange. The fact that they were intense. Bigtime! Really all that matters. Nope, not my boyfriend. Funny joke, but no. Here's the scoop- Delirium Tremens kill us. If you think this is funny, or rather a hoax, its not. Alcohol & benzo withdraw are the only two that kill. I really do hope you (or anyone) never experience them. Its bad, man. Real bad. Thank you, Dirk

The word alcohol comes from an Arabic word "Al-Khul" meaning "body eating spirit."
