    For the Chia Jam recipe, I would recommend you let the mixture cool before adding in the chia seeds, so that they won’t lose their heat-sensitive nutrients :)

    I love watching your family. It was nice of the company to send you a dehydrator. Hope you are still enjoying it. We bought one to make wraps made out of fruits and veggies. We were having difficulty getting the wraps to release, so we purchased a few silicone trays. They helped a lot.

    Older, computer challenged here. If I can’t do it on my iPhone…oh well, I’ll need advice. So I watch you on Utube. I’ve lost 19 lbs so far. Want to lose 50-60 more. I’m an old RN and monitoring my glucose. Technically pre Diabetic, but may have crossed over. You’ve been a part of my new program. Cuz I’m aiming for healthy lipid panel results as well as glucose. I aim to enter my 70s with health. AND AVOID the modern epidemic of the aged, senile dementia. And you sir will be a part of that.CUZ that’s going to take lifestyle changes. And I’ve already been in over 2 months now. But here’s the bottom line: this lifestyle MUST be enjoyable. Aka, FUN. Since I’ve got under 30 years left du to the mortal part of the life cycle, and I’ve yet to ride a raft down the Colorado River.

    Hi! I'm quite new to the Channel; I'm Tanja from Heidelberg (Germany). Your weight loss journey inspires me. I'm obese and have to lose about 40 kg (ca. 90 lbs) to be in a healthy weight range. I already lost 4 kg (9 lbs) by switching my diet to much more vegetables, whole grains and legumes! And I don't feel like starving all the times. At the moment, while I'm watching your video, I'm making some vegan fat free pancakes with aquafaba and whole wheat flour. :-) I use them for sweet and savory meals, either with loads of veggies for dinner or for breakfast with fruit, a bit of peanut butter, maple sirup...

  • @pbwithjeremy

    Hey Tanja! Sounds like you're doing great so far! I love that you're still eating food that you find enjoyable and not scared of having some nut butter, maple syrup, etc... that's the real trick, enjoy the food in a healthier way as opposed to eliminating things. That's the path to a REAL lasting change and you're on the right path!!! Keep in touch with all you've got going :)

Weight wise im at 140lb. now, probably could loose more but i feel great. Still working with Dr. to see if i can get off meds. Oh, BTW, i donated blood recently and my iron level was the highest it's ever been, 15.9. In the past i barely made the cutoff of 12.0 iron level. Lots of great ideas, so thanks! Two reasons I've avoided dehydrating food are the huge amount of electricity and time needed. Seems super inefficient to me. I'm a low-tech type on a budget, so think I'll stick with the oven-based options. Thank you for a great variety of snacks and classics!

  • @pbwithjeremy

    @pbwithjeremy

    9 ай бұрын

    Totally understand this stance - though from the research I've done the dehydrator uses a fraction of the energy of a stove. 12hrs of my dehydrator is less energy than my stove on for 1hr. And as for time, it's really just something that can be done in the background, so neither of those things feel like much of a burden for me. But if you're finding success in your oven that's awesome! Still lots of snacks here to try :) Thanks for writing!

    that dehydrator sounds like an excellent thing for kale chips. I'd make more but they're so inconsistent in the oven and I need to watch them like a hawk! Oh and since I'm not at all a fan of dried cranberries, I tend to use dried blueberries instead. That would sure be good in your recipe for granola bars. A couple of my staples are homemade granola (to top on our smoothies); some form of hummus (I make it different all the time, even using more than 1 type of bean); some sort of grain, bean, or legume for the week made in my instant pot; and I always wash and cut up my vegetables from the market each Saturday so they're always ready as a snack -- or to cook with. Cheers!

    When thickening a sauce you can substitute potato starch for tapioca flour 1:1. However, if a you're baking, potato starch may not work as well. It has a heavier consistency than tapioca flour, which can make baked goods feel denser.

    Hey Jeremy, I need muffin advice. I tried your recipe with peaches and frozen banana slices, in a silicone pan. I let rest in the pan 10-15 minutes before trying to remove to cool further on a rack. As with every WFPB muffin recipe I try, the muffins are too wet on the bottom, kind of gummy, and about ¼ of the muffin ends up stuck in the pan. Delicious though! Any suggestions? Maybe peaches + frozen banana slices were too wet? Maybe cool even longer in the pan? This happens to me a lot and with other WFPB recipes, too, so I think it’s my technique/skill not the recipe. 🤷🏼

  • @pbwithjeremy

    @pbwithjeremy

    9 ай бұрын

    Hey Alison! So a few things: first if you're using frozen fruit you've got to let it thaw first and remove the extra liquid from them as best you can. If you mix them in still frozen you're going to end up with way more wet in your baking and it'll end up like you said. I tend to leave muffins in the pan for about 20-30 minutes and then if they're still a little soft I'll rest them on a baking rack upside down and let them air cool and firm up there. Hope that helps!! Let me know!

  • @merryworld4776

    Hi.. just a friendly thought.. is it possible the temperature calibration is not correct in your oven? Maybe add a hanging oven thermometer to the inside of your oven. Check/compare the temp of that thermometer to the setting on the stove when you bake. Adjust if needed. 😊

  • @pbwithjeremy

    @pbwithjeremy

    9 ай бұрын

    That could help too - but for sure if you put a frozen fruit inside of a muffin it's not going to cook evenly inside of the muffin because of the temperature difference of the frozen fruit - it'll take longer for them to come up to temperature - along with the area around it - so that's likely contributing to your muffin challenges.
