This manga looks really cute! I think my favorite part of your editing was the sound effects! They were recognizably anime sampled or inspired, so it really helped to cement the genre of the vid as a manga review and drive home the idea that Dungeon Meshi would be good as an animated series!

I’m so incredibly excited! And please read the manga as well! The anime will no doubt be excellent but the manga has something very special, especially in the characters’ facial expressions!

I think Chilchuck's role has a lot to do with the fact that he is a *practiced* adventurer. He's involved in the guild scene/half-foot union, there's a method to dungeon crawling and he is familiar with it, he's got a lot of practical knowledge and hands on experience. Marcille's book learning tends to fail her when she doesn't expect it to, Laios isn't TOTALLY novice but he's not practiced either, and Senshi, as you mentioned, is just sorta doin his own thing. Chilchuck gives us that subtle worldbuilding of "this is what a man of his profession in this magical, wonderous setting would be and how he'd act." Because this world HAS professional dungeon crawlers! That's a thing! He is one! Also, it's good to have a straight man to Marcille and Laios's over-the-top comedy, and Senshi's straightfoward off-the-shits wildness said nonchalantly. Also hard agree on Marcille and Falin, best characters, love them to death, I am kissing both of them

Described perfectly, well done! That's what drew me to it back on Twitter a few years back when I saw it was the idea, and then the characters, and everything that followed. Your breakdown of the crew is spot on as well, they're so dynamic with each other as the story goes on. And the adaptation of classical western fantasy into it, along with the creative process of makin' it into food, has never stopped being interesting. Hell, that 'seafood' Doria they make further down the story? mmmm, boy~ It's also really REALLY hard to not break down entirely too, so I'ma just say excellent work on the voices (I liked Senshi's in particular) and uh, maybe go knock on Studio Trigger's door sometime and see what they up to in there?

Thou art interesting and I enjoyed how you presented everything, so I'm definitely subscribing now.

Seems like a cool concept for a manga. As for other topics I want to hear you thoughts on, I'd like to hear your thoughts on your favorite anime power systems and your least favorite tropes that are commonplace in other works. I also suggest checking out Baki the Grappler: Retsu Isekai which so far is a fun as hell spin off where Retsu is sent to a fantasy world where we see how various fantasy monsters fare against Retsu's 4,000 years of Chinese martial arts.

Spoilers for later chapters I loved this manga and it was adorable …then gets so intense while retaining the food part but it’s really cool how the shifts are handled well.

Once the anime comes out I'll probably do that for sure. The only reason I didn't now is because editing with just manga panels is... very difficult, but once I have moving footage I can rely on, I have a lot of things to say!
