This will work on a 32-bit Windows, but as no serious computer user nowadays still runs a 32-bit OS this will not suffice: What IS correct is that you can delete protected system fonts through the Windows registry under the following registry key(set): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Fonts But that is only HALF of the needed steps: If you are on a 64-bit Windows (and who isn't?), you also need to go to this registry key and delete the source from here too: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Fonts Finally, restart the computer after deleting system fonts. IMPORTANT: Always bring a disclaimer telling people to back up their Registry DB before making any changes to it m- however small and insignificant they might seem. Removing the wrong key by mistake kan make your entire system unstable and in worst case render it corrupt and useless.

Restart after deleting the fonts. Then they will be gone from the lists and drop down menus. You can also select multiple fonts and delete at once, just be careful selecting only the ones you don’t want.

No,just because it doesn't show up doesn't mean it was deleted.IT'S STILL THERE!!!

@@beninua Is there a way to do this in batch? I accidentally clicked in the install all foreing languages fonts link, in the font panel, and silly me, I accepted the warning telling me that it would use a lot of space, thinking that later on it would have an option to select specific languages, but no, it installed everything. Now i want to delete all foreign languages, and keep only english, but one by one would take forever.

@@badideabearcub2747 Now I'm a bit uncertain what we are talking about. We are not talking about the protected system fonts anymore, right? I mean since these fonts are some you installed by yourself, right. Just type [Win]+[R] Type "Control Panel" + [ENTER] Choose "Fonts" You can select multiple fonts and just click delete to delete all of them in one go. If you have an entire section where you need to delete a large section of fonts, just click the first in the bunch and hold down shift and click the last and tap [DEL] to remove them all. With a combo of [CTRL] and [SHIFT] you can select several chunks of fonts and choose [DEL] to get rid of them all (still assuming we are talking about fonts you just installed through Windows by either clicking a library, an Open Type Font library (OTF) or True Type Font (TTF) file). If you by any chance run Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (full/Pro version) you would also be able to administer your font through Adobe Font Manager. Let me know if I misunderstood something (maybe something got lost in translation, due to my mediocre English, and in that case, I apologize sincerely ... ;-) )

EXCELLENT instructional. I like the comfortable pace, the zooming for emphasis. I find that instructional videos that move really fast often require viewers to "pause" and/or rewind/back-up the clip to see and follow the steps. A good instructor is patient and clear. The purpose here was to educate, not to show the video maker's prowess mouse in hand. I agree it's nice.

I'd suggest in future videos, stop all the zooming, don't add music, turn your microphone on and speed up your procedure. Took almost 5 mins to delete a single font, really?

Actually, the zoom did help me see, but you could speed things up. Like, you know where those folders and fonts are in the list, so move decisively.

BS..!! The video was great. The "pace" was good, comfortable and easy to follow. The instructions were clear and the zooming was helpful. On many videos, the instructional videos, the pace is rushed and followers have to pause or even back-up (rewind) to see what the hell is being done. NOTHING wrong with this video. It's outstanding. If you didn't appreciate it, stop with the BS criticism and make your own video..!!

The video did show how to delete a font but the process was longer than it should have been and the music was annoying and irrelevant. Now had the video title said, "How Jamaicans can delete protected system fonts from Windows 10" then I can see where the music would fit in. 🙄

AWESOME! Now I can finallly get rid of all those weird Asian fonts that have NO use for me! I will copy my fonts folder before I do it, just in case. I have heard that some of those super weird fonts are actually used by the system, though that may be a myth to scare us about deleting them. THANK YOU!

I have UNISTALLED fonts, yet they still show in the dropdown font list in Microsoft word, but now have a download symbol next to them. I am trying to have a shorter font list, I have so many that I will never use and do not want to download. Is there a way to hide them from the Word font list?

all the fonts are still available in photoshop, illustrator etc apps. So no real use of this :/

It looks like you've got one long day ahead of you if you want to delete a few dozen fonts unless you always want to just bypass fonts that you've never had any intention ever to use... Never wanted to use any fonts that didn't use the A to Z alphabet or have received email from any country that also didn't use the A to Z alphabet or go onto any site that doesn't use the A to Z alphabet... It's too bad that Microsoft doesn't have just one switch to turn off the protection for all the fonts so that you can see what they are, delete what you don't want, and then turn the protection back on.... But then again - that would make too much sense - right Bill...???
