dreamculture Yes that is true but it is like a good George Duke interview i seen where he goes on to say how back in the day every instrument sounded different, not every b3 organ or rhodes piano sounded the exact same, and now all the sounds are copied and replicated which is a lot less fun and creative.

All on point, also those recording studios had much less to work with. only 4,6 & 8 tracks of tape and you better not mess up! All in one take, now that's real talent! Plus I imagine that as an electronic engineer, you had to know your stuff with understanding how to make studio equipment repairs, reduce noise in audio signals, impedance, interference, room ambiance, sweet spots, etc. Now you got programs on your cell phone with 99 drum machine and synth sound swith infinite tracking capabilities, filters & effects. Everything is done for you now, everything is instant gratification. Amazing how being so limited spawned a perfect universe of musical artistry and personality.

My Dad owned a large meat packing plant back in the 70’s that supplied beef to all the grocery stores in Dallas, Texas. I used to ride in his big black Lincoln Continental on Sunday afternoons with him when I was 5 years old to the meat packing plant to hang with him while he did paperwork in his office and we would listen to this song driving on Inwood Road to the plant.
